Joondalup Health Campus welcomed 180 general practitioners (GPs) to our latest GP education program, Women’s Health: Spot the Difference, held on Saturday. The event featured eight expert presentations from our specialists, delivering practical, evidence-based insights to support best practice in primary care.

Male and female bodies can experience the same medical conditions in very different ways. Biological factors—such as hormones, genetics and metabolism—alongside environmental influences, often result in gender-specific symptoms and disease patterns. Recognising these differences is essential for accurate diagnosis, timely intervention and effective treatment, particularly for conditions that have historically been underdiagnosed in women.

We value being a part of the local community and caring for those who live in Joondalup and surrounds is what our dedicated staff love to do.

Our Telethon Children’s Ward team were treated to a sneak peek at the supertees that will soon be on offer to our paediatric patients.

Supertees are medical garments that feel like costumes and support medical access and care, bringing comfort, dignity and strength through imagination.

Thanks to the support of 7Telethon, thousands of children in Western Australia will now have access to these garments to help them through their hospital journey and we can’t wait to share them with our youngest patients.

We’re taking part in a new clinical trial that could change the way stage 4 endometrial cancer is treated.

With more than 1900 Australians diagnosed each year, it’s the most common gynaecological cancer in the country.

The global study involves giving stage 4 cancer patients a targeted chemotherapy drug intravenously once other treatments have been exhausted.

It’s hoped that the trial will reveal less severe side effects compared to traditional chemo for this type of cancer.

Today, on World Cancer Day (WCD), we recognise the impact cancer has on our patients, and the community.

We thank our staff for the support they provide JHC cancer patients, and their families.

This World Cancer Day (4 February), Ramsay is releasing a new cancer strategy, which outlines the organisation’s clear ambition to build a more connected, consistent, and research-led cancer care network for Australians. Ramsay is supporting the WCD campaign "united by unique", placing people at the centre of care by providing care that is more connected and easier to access for Australians.

This Christmas Eve, we wish all our community a safe and happy festive season.

Tomorrow, more than 500 guests will enjoy the Joondalup Christmas Lunch, which JHC is proudly supporting for the eleventh year. It means that those guests, who would otherwise be isolated, alone or unable to afford a Christmas meal, will enjoy a lovely Christmas lunch in Central Park, Joondalup.

The event is made possible through donations, such as our $5,000 contribution, and the support of more than 120 generous volunteers, including organisers Suzanne White and Anouck Vandyck, who presented our CEO, Renaud Mazy, with a trophy of appreciation.
