✨ Meet Sam ✨

Continuing our introductions to the humans and services within West Coast Health Alliance (and yes — still in no particular order, just whoever replied to the email first).

Sam is a Pharmacist and Credentialled Diabetes Educator consulting at Glucare Diabetes Centre, located within the clinic.

With a background in community pharmacy, Sam is passionate about helping people better understand their diabetes and feel more confident managing their health day-to-day. Her approach focuses on practical, personalised support — helping people make small, sustainable changes that can lead to better long-term health outcomes.

Managing diabetes can sometimes feel overwhelming, but Sam works alongside patients to break things down into manageable steps, providing guidance, education, and support along the way.

Sam is excited to be part of the West Coast Health Alliance community and looks forward to supporting patients as they navigate their diabetes journey. 💙

✨ Meet Jo ✨

Continuing our introductions to the humans behind West Coast Health Alliance (and yes — still in no particular order, just whoever replied to the email first).

Jo Raven is one of the friendly faces you’ll see when you arrive at the clinic. As part of our reception team, she’s often the person welcoming you through the door with a smile and helping keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Jo enjoys connecting with people and is always happy to help — whether that’s answering questions, assisting with bookings, or simply having a quick chat to brighten someone’s day. Her approachable and caring nature helps create the warm, welcoming environment we aim for at the clinic.

Outside of work, Jo enjoys spending time with her husband and their dogs, relaxing with a coffee by the beach, or unwinding with a good book by the pool.

If you’ve visited the clinic recently, chances are Jo has already greeted you — and helped make the space feel just that little bit more welcoming. ☕🐾

✨ Meet Chloé✨

Continuing our introductions to the humans behind West Coast Health Alliance (and yes — still in no particular order, just whoever replied to the email first).

Chloé Raven is our Senior Exercise Physiologist, and she’s passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and improve their overall quality of life through safe and tailored exercise.

Chloé works with a wide range of clients, supporting those managing chronic conditions, recovering from injury or surgery, and people who simply want to build strength and confidence in their bodies again.

She also specialises in Clinical Reformer Pilates and particularly enjoys teaching group classes where she creates a supportive, welcoming environment for people of all abilities. Chloé brings a positive, friendly, and often fun energy to her sessions, while still making sure each program is carefully tailored to suit the individual’s needs, goals, and abilities.

Through her work at West Coast Health Alliance, Chloé enjoys connecting with the local community and supporting people to stay active, build strength, and improve their health through practical and sustainable movement.

Outside the clinic, Chloé spends much of her time training and competing with her German Shepherds, catching up with friends, and enjoying time outdoors in nature.

If you’ve spent time in the exercise space at the clinic, chances are you’ve already experienced Chloé’s encouraging approach — helping people realise they’re often capable of far more than they think. 💪

✨ Meet Andy & Invisible Injuries ✨

Continuing our introductions to the people and programs connected to West Coast Health Alliance (and yes — still in no particular order, just whoever replied to the email first).

We’re proud to have Invisible Injuries supporting the West Coast Health Alliance hub through the delivery of their RSL Active Yoga program and a range of other mental health and wellbeing initiatives that will be rolled out throughout the year.

The program is led by founder and facilitator Andrew Fermo, a veteran with lived experience navigating PTSD and the transition from service. Through Invisible Injuries, Andy delivers trauma-aware yoga, breathwork, and wellbeing practices designed to support veterans, first responders, and their families.

At the clinic, Andy facilitates the RSL Active Yoga – Joondalup sessions held on Tuesdays and Saturdays in partnership with RSL WA.

These sessions focus on simple, accessible tools that help regulate the nervous system, improve mobility, and strengthen connection with both self and community. They’re designed to complement the broader allied health services available within the West Coast Health Alliance hub.

But the sessions are about more than movement alone. They’re also about community — the banter, the laughs, and the camaraderie that naturally builds when people come together with shared experiences.

Being part of the hub also means working collaboratively alongside other organisations and ex-service groups, strengthening the collective support available to the veteran community.

If you’d like to learn more about the work Invisible Injuries does, you can visit:
https://www.invisibleinjuries.org.au/

And if you hear a bit of laughter coming from the yoga room on a Tuesday or Saturday… now you’ll know who’s responsible. 🧘‍♂️

🖤 Meet Talia 🖤

Continuing our introductions of the humans behind West Coast Health Alliance (and, as mentioned before, these are in no particular order — just whoever replied to the email first).

Talia is the Registered Psychologist at the clinic and is also a current serving Army Reservist. Her work focuses primarily on trauma, with a particular interest in working with defence members and veterans, first responders, and people navigating complex life experiences.

Her approach to therapy is grounded, direct, and collaborative. While the work can involve unpacking some heavy experiences, the goal is always to help people better understand the patterns, survival strategies, and nervous system responses that have helped them get through difficult environments.

Talia works from a trauma-informed perspective and integrates a range of approaches to help people make sense of what they’ve been carrying — whether that’s stress from high-pressure roles, long-standing patterns, or experiences that have never really had space to be processed.

Having experience within Defence gives her a strong appreciation for the realities of structured, high-demand environments and the way people often learn to function at a high level while quietly carrying a lot underneath the surface.

At its core, her work is about creating a space where people can talk honestly, understand themselves a little better, and start to feel like they’re back in the driver’s seat of their own lives.

Outside the therapy room, Talia can usually be found powerlifting (because apparently lifting heavy things is relaxing), playing hockey with Whitfords Hockey Club, or painting when she gets the rare moment of quiet. She also shares her home with several cats who are absolutely convinced they are in charge — and, if we’re being honest, they probably are. 🖤

✨ Buddy Up Yoga at West Coast Health Alliance ✨

Continuing our introductions to the people, programs, and partnerships that make West Coast Health Alliance what it is (and yes — still in no particular order, just whoever replied to the email first… or in this case, the programs we’re lucky enough to host).

We’re proud to have Buddy Up Australia running a free weekly yoga session right here at the clinic.

Every Monday, Megan Davidson leads a one-hour yoga class designed for all levels of ability. Whether you’ve never stepped onto a yoga mat before or you’re already familiar with the practice, Megan creates a welcoming and supportive environment with options so everyone can participate comfortably.

It’s also more than just yoga. These sessions are a chance to connect with others, have a chat with fellow veterans, and walk away feeling a little more relaxed than when you arrived.

To book, head to the Buddy Up website where you’ll also see a wide range of other events happening across the community.

Membership is free, and activities are open to:
• Serving military personnel
• Ex-serving veterans
• Emergency services personnel
• Immediate family members

A great way to move your body, connect with others, and start the week on a calmer note. 🧘‍♀️

ADF Families – A Great Opportunity in Busselton 🌿

The team at The Younger Heroes are running a special Parent & Child Outdoor Program in Busselton from April 10–12 for current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members and their families.

This program is designed to help parents and children reconnect after time apart due to service, with a structured weekend focused on shared experiences in nature, building connection, and strengthening family relationships.

The program is for one parent and one child aged 9–15, although individual circumstances may be considered for younger or older children, or families wishing to bring more than one child.

⚠️ Only 6 of the 10 places are still available, so if this sounds like something that could benefit your family, it’s worth getting in quickly.

Expressions of interest can be submitted here:
https://theyoungerheroes.org/outdoor-programs-for-adf-families/

Programs like this can make a real difference for veteran families, and we’re always happy to share opportunities that support connection, wellbeing, and time together.

✨ Meet Dale ✨

As we introduce the people who make West Coast Health Alliance what it is, a quick disclaimer: these posts are in no particular order — just whoever replied to my email first. Administrative efficiency at its finest.

Today we’re introducing Dale, one of the friendly faces who keeps everything running smoothly at the front desk.

Dale is one of our receptionists and is often the first person you’ll meet when you walk through the doors. She’s the warm smile, the friendly chat, and the calm presence helping keep the day moving.

Outside of the clinic, Dale is a proud mum to three wonderful adult children and two very loved doggos. She calls Yanchep home and loves spending time walking along the beach — her favourite way to unwind.

When she’s not at reception, you’ll likely find her colouring, getting creative with crafts, or curled up with a good book. She’s also someone who enjoys trying new things and embracing new experiences whenever she can.

If you’ve visited the clinic recently, chances are Dale has already welcomed you in. And if not, you’ll probably meet her soon. ✨

One year. 🎉

(Yes… we turned one in February. No… we did not throw a party. Classic us.)

In February, West Coast Health Alliance quietly celebrated its first birthday. No balloons. No cake. No awkward speeches. Just a lot of very real humans doing very meaningful work behind the scenes.

And honestly? That feels pretty on brand.

Over the past year, this little space has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of — a place where people can access genuine, collaborative care under one roof.

So over the next little while, I’m going to properly introduce you to who’s here now and what we each do — because the team has grown, evolved, and settled into something pretty special.

If you’ve walked through our doors this year — thank you.
If you’ve referred to us — thank you.
If you’ve supported us quietly from the sidelines — also thank you.

Year one was about building foundations.

Year two is expansion (with maybe cake this time).
