This is a great read about 12 signs your child is constipated
A mom asks: "Is there a connection between a child being constipated and randomly feeling nauseous? My daughter, age 4.5, will complain of her belly hurting , sometimes saying she think she might puke (even though she doesn't). She typically p**ps at least twice, sometimes 4 times, usually small amount that looks soft. She hates being in the bathroom, and she sometimes (not often ) has small accidents of p*e in her underwear. Does this sound like constipation to you?"
Yes! Stomachache and p**ping multiple times a day are red flags for chronic constipation, listed on our 12 Signs Your Child is Constipated infographic. https://www.bedwettingandaccidents.com/downloads-in-english
When a child p**ps 2-4 times a day, that means the child is not fully evacuating. Lack of complete evacuation is the very definition of constipation. When p**p piles up, the child can easily have stomachaches and feel nauseous. The p*e accidents, even though small, suggest her enlarged re**um is pressing against her bladder nerves. Treatment for constipation is definitely warranted. This isn't a one-and-done situation; her constipation is chronic and should be treated as such. The enlarged re**um needs to be fully evacuated daily so that it can shrink back to size and regain full tone and sensation and so it can stop bothering the bladder.
Some parents in this situation (obvious constipation but without daily/significant accidents) choose the full M.O.P. regimen (daily e***a + osmotic laxative for 30 days, then tapering the e***a). Others do a Pre-M.O.P. approach (e***as on any day the child doesn't appear to fully evacuate, plus daily osmotic). Others choose to stimulate p**ping with Ex-Lax. There are many options, discussed in the M.O.P. Anthology and The Pre-M.O.P. Plan.
