As I sit and reflect on the year just ended and the new one beginning, I can’t help but be thankful, appreciative and wildly impressed for the support that you have all shown me in clinic and in my new shop and cafe. Without each and every one of you, the growth and change that I set in motion in 2023 wouldn’t have come out into the world to play. So as the new year begins I like to contemplate my goals for the coming year. Do you do this too? I set no resolutions because I like to work on my aims for improvement rather than set “do this” types of resolutions like “go to the gym”. My goals always include a work related aim and a cooking related one. This year they are sort of rolled into one. I would love to satisfy more bellies with our gluten free meals (we made over 5000 meals this year, even though I never really truly believed it would take off). On a personal level I want to continue working on avenues to maintain my calm and maintain movement for my menopausal bones and muscles. What are your aims for 2026? Another theme I set each year (for growth and in my art journaling) is to set an intention in one or two words. This year I believe mine will be AUTHENTICITY and HEALING. What are your words for the year to set your intention? Drop them below in a comment, I’d love to know. Again, thank you for coming on this journey, trusting me and putting in the hard work to achieve amazing results. Happy new year 2026.

My daughter is having her tonsils out today. It has been a long time coming and we are ready to have those festy things out of her body! There are some of the things that are handy in the weeks coming up to surgery. For upcoming ear, nose and throat surgeries, I encourage you to eliminate dairy as it increases mucous production and sugar as it depresses the immune system.

This beauty is Echinacea spp. Did you know that you can tell the quality of Echinacea by how tingly it is on your tongue? The more it tingles, the more active constituents. Use this wondrous herb for immune balancing, colds and flu, to make you salivate (helping with dry mouth) and to move lymphatic fluid. Find it in our dispensary at

Why am I always posting photos of breakfast or lunch? Well I find that most people know what to eat for tea (dinner) but many many people struggle with knowing what’s best at breakfast and lunch, aren’t in the rhythm of preparing food or don’t have the right supplies in their fridge and so the options are limited. My aim is to give you inspiration to try something new, to add breakfast to your day (it really is the king of all meals), prep your lunch for work and feel those benefits. My breakfast here could be an equally fast lunch. Protein bread toasted, cottage cheese, sliced cucumber, tomato and spring onion, salt and balsamic for my blood sugar and digestion.

A new tradie coming our way.

He starts a carpentry apprenticeship today. As he was leaving I reminded him that he promised me (when he was about 7) that he’d build me a house for $5 🤣 🏠

Sometimes it’s like a production line of herbal formulas at my place. They have a lovely spot out of the sun but in the warmth nestled with my beloved succulents. These two batches are mullein oil and a herbal oil for my skin balm. Would you like to learn more about how to use herbs at home? Watch out for workshops coming up in the next couple of months about different ways to use herbs at home.

Good old country breakfast. I encourage clients to have more savoury than sweet breakfasts to set their metabolism up for a great day. I love this one in particular because it’s full of resistant starch in those fried new potatoes, to feed the gut microbiota. Delicious and beneficial 😁.
