Today is National Sorry Day. A day to acknowledge and honour the strength, resilience and ongoing journeys of Stolen Generation survivors, their families and communities. We also recognise the lasting impacts of forced child removal and the ways these continue to affect First Nations children, young people, families and communities today.

At headspace, we believe every First Nations young person has the right to access culturally safe, inclusive and healing-centred support.

If today brings up difficult feelings, support is available. Visit the link below to explore support options.🖤💛❤️

💚🏃‍♂️ Lewis is Running for a Reason 🏃‍♂️💚

On Sunday 24 May 2026, Lewis Shikawashpa, AOD Counsellor/Educator from Goldfields Hope Community Services, will proudly be representing headspace in the HBF Run for a Reason in Perth — raising awareness and support for youth mental health.

Lewis is passionate about advocating for young people and helping break down the stigma around mental health, and now he’s taking that passion to the starting line.

As part of the event, Lewis is hoping to raise $1000 towards mental health support and advocacy for young people. We would love for our community to get behind him by donating, sharing this post, or spreading the word through your networks.

Every contribution — big or small — helps make a difference. 💚

Happy IDAHOBIT Day 2026 🌈

Today we stand against homophobia, biphobia, intersex discrimination and transphobia, and celebrate the strength, diversity, and resilience of LGBTQIA+ communities everywhere. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves every day.

At headspace Kalgoorlie, we’re committed to creating inclusive, affirming spaces for young people. One of those spaces is our LGBTQIA+ drop-in group for young people aged 12–25 this Thursday, where there’s no pressure to label your identity or share more than you want to. Just connection, community, snacks, and support 💚

On IDAHOBIT Day and beyond, we celebrate you for exactly who you are. You belong here.

Have you heard the term ‘school Can't’? You might be more familiar with ‘school refusal’, however ‘school can’t’ often reflects the reality for many young people due to barriers like stress, anxiety, or other challenges making it hard for them to return to the classroom.

Recognising the early signs of ‘school can’t’ can help parents and family provide the right support sooner.
