𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 Kurt Vossebelt, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our Operations Manager, Kurt Vossebelt, who was recognised with the prestigious Harry Steinhauser Award at the Underground Emergency Response Competition presentation dinner in Kalgoorlie last night.

Kurt’s Emergency Response career spans 35 years, beginning in mining as a fresh-faced 18-year-old straight out of high school. For the past 24 years, he has been an integral part of Riklan Emergency Management Services, sharing his knowledge, passion, and expertise as a Training Consultant, and helping shape and strengthen emergency response capability across the industry.

The Harry Steinhauser Award recognises outstanding contributions to Mine Rescue and is assessed against six key criteria: Advancement of Emergency Response, Training Improvements, Professionalism in Adverse Situations, Continuous Service, Encouragement of Participation, and Promotion of Mine Rescue - all qualities that Kurt consistently demonstrates in his work.

Kurt now joins our Director, Michael (Mick) Nollas, as a former recipient of this distinguished award. Two recipients within the same organisation, now that’s something to be proud of and it’s a true reflection of the values, dedication, and excellence we uphold here at Riklan Emergency Management Services.

Our Operations Manager, Kurt Vossebelt, is in Balikpapan, Indonesia this week, joining a group of Aussie industry peers as a mentor for the very first Indonesian Mine Emergency Response Competition (IMERC).

The events are taking place at a purpose-built training facility – and knowing Kurt, he’s already eyeing off ideas for our own Perth training centre after spotting their impressive pool! 💡💦
