🧔 Say Their Names 🧔

To mark the final day of the , we remember the women and children who never made it out. We honour their lives, and we fight in their memory. Because enough is enough.

Family and Domestic Violence is not an issue for 16 days alone. It is a crisis that demands our attention every single day.

As the 16 Days campaign comes to an end, our responsibility does not. We must keep speaking up, supporting survivors, and driving change in our communities.

The work doesn’t end here. It begins again tomorrow - and every day after.

"Why didn’t she just leave?"

Because she had no money.
Because she had no support.
Because she had no safe place to flee to.
Because she was scared.
Because her children were scared.
Because she knew leaving would be far more dangerous than staying.

Leaving isn’t easy. Judging is.

For too many women, the most dangerous place isn’t a dark alley. It’s their own home.

Love should never hurt.

If home isn’t safe, nowhere is.

Every day in Australia, women are hospitalised because of someone they loved.

Every week, a woman is murdered by a current or former partner.

This is not ā€˜just how it is.’ This is a crisis.

Demand better. Demand action.

It’s time to bust the myths about Family & Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV)!

Misconceptions fuel silence and protect abuse. Let’s break the cycle and set the facts straight.

Swipe through our carousel to see the truth behind the myths. Because violence is never acceptable, never excusable, and never the victim’s fault.

By sharing this post, you can help raise awareness, challenge harmful beliefs, and break the cycle of FDSV.

She didn’t ā€œjust leaveā€ because she knew leaving could get her killed.

In WA, one woman is killed by an intimate partner every 8 days and FDV-related homicides are rising.

This is not a private issue. It’s a public emergency.

Silence is complicity. Action saves lives.

🧔 Today we begin .

In Western Australia, more than 42,000 cases of family, domestic, and sexual violence were reported in the past year - an 18% increase! That’s not just a statistic, that’s thousands of women, children, and families living in fear.

Violence is not a private matter. It’s a public emergency. Silence protects perpetrators. Speaking out protects lives.

🧔 For the next 16 days, stand united.
Wear orange. Share the message. Stand with survivors.
Together, we must Play Our Part and say NO to Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence.

šŸ‘£ Happy Podiatry Week 2025! šŸ‘£

This year’s theme is ā€œFrom first steps to next stepsā€ - and we’re celebrating the incredible work podiatrists do to keep feet of all ages moving, grooving and feeling great!

Whether it’s tiny toes or tired soles, podiatrists are the unsung heroes of foot health. And if you’re living with diabetes, your feet deserve extra love and attention.

Curious why foot care is so important with diabetes? Our diabetes educators are here to help you keep those toes in tip-top shape.
Here are 4 easy steps from the Diabetes Feet Australia checklist to keep you confidently on your feet:

šŸ” STEP 1: CHECK - Give your feet a daily once-over. Look and feel for changes in skin, shape, or temperature.
🧼 STEP 2: WASH - Clean feet = happy feet! Use warm water and soap, and don’t forget between the toes. Can’t reach? Ask a mate or carer for help.
🧓 STEP 3: CARE - Moisturise daily. And if toenails or hard skin are tricky, your podiatrist is your foot-care hero.
šŸ‘Ÿ STEP 4: WEAR - Socks and shoes that fit well protect your feet indoors and out.

If you spot any changes - like wounds, swelling, or colour shifts - don’t wait! Seek medical help fast.

Let’s celebrate the feet that carry us through life and step into better foot health this Podiatry Week!
