Queensland Circuit Racing State Championship returns next year presented by Morgan Park Raceway and Queensland Raceway in the capacity of promoter at their respective circuits.

Calendars are now being worked out with individual local category clubs and interstate visitor categories to finalise the complete picture for the events of the year ahead.

Once categories have completed their individual 2026 announcements, you'll be able to come back to the QRDA and we will post an enthusiast's guide to QCRSC season 2026 that covers each event and what you can expect to see.

As a drivers' association rather than a specific category club we are always interested in all your feedback, no matter what you race. We may not be involved as one of the event promoters anymore but we do continue to work behind the scenes to encourage great results for participants, often unsuccessfully but every now and then we jag a win that makes it worthwhile!

So drop a comment. What would you like to see from next year's championships?

Time to get your Q out of the shed? There's already 9 cars entered for Morgan Park's annual end of year race meeting and there's plenty of time to add more to that. Gemini Series cars also race with the HQ Holdens and are equally as welcome. Entries are open and will remain that way until the 29th.

Wednesday General Practice is also scheduled for the week of the race meeting, for those wanting to sort things out with a little extra spare time up their sleeve before race weekend.

If you have ever had a desire to go rear wheel drive one make racing on a budget, maybe you've also been curious about HQ Holden racing and what's needed to get from sideline to starting grid. It's a lot less than a $100k+ GR Cup car that's for sure! If you want to get in touch with the HQ racers drop us a DM and we'll hook you up, or head out to Morgan Park in a few weeks and meet up with them in person at the track.

Joining HQs vs Geminis in Warwick are Formula Fords & Sports & Racing Cars, Series X3 Excels, SuperMini Challenge, RX8 Cup, Formula Vee, Sports Sedans & Improved Production Cars, ProdSports and Superkarts for a big weekend away.

And then in 2026 we all go racing again thanks to Queensland Raceway and Morgan Park Raceway, stay turned for calendars coming soon.

Sports Sedans take to the mountain this weekend for the biggest race in the country... sort of...

For those who have been watching motorsport for several decades the thought of Sports Sedans being the primary category for the Bathurst 1000 would have been unfathomable, but back in the later part of the 80's CAMS manager of motorsport was trying to pull S/S back much closer to looking like their donor road cars.

It didn't fully happen, but front and rear aero was clipped, bumper bars had to be fitted, front clam shell bodywork had to have the bonnet cut back into it and be operable and numerous other detail changes.

Fast forward a few decades, and the Gen 3 Supercar is somewhat representative of what a pulled back Sports Sedan would have been. Full fabricated motorsport chassis underneath including transaxle, oem derived engine, silhouette of a production car dropped over the top with some wheel arch tweaks and aero added on.

In a world where the unbelievable sometimes becomes a reality, happy Bathurst 1000 from Queensland's Sports Sedan category club, as these homologated and parity applied Gen 3 Sports Sedans, oops, sorry, Supercars 😊, look set to put on a great show.

A major change to Improved Production Car racing starts next year with a move to Bridgestone.

New pricing, distribution and backing for the category is ahead. What remains is a control spec all-weather tyre, having the final say over acceleration, braking and cornering peak performance no matter what mechanical parts or development dollars get thrown at it, and meaning no need for wet weather wheels and tyres to be carted around.

Along with Sports Sedans you'll find IPRA QLD - Improved Production Racing Association Queensland cars racing at Queensland Circuit Racing State Championship events next year at Morgan Park Raceway and Queensland Raceway.

Making Sports Sedans great again! It's one of the things we are working on here in Queensland but with so many Sports Sedan like categories popping up throughout AASA and Racers, and even through Motorsport Australia competitions, it's a challenge!

Victoria have been there too, but yesterday Sports Sedans rolled out with a huge field of cars for State Championship racing, demonstrating turn arounds can and do happen.

With a mix of spaceframes and floorpan cars, some older restored cars and brand new builds, and a big variety of engines under the hoods, check out yesterday's opening lap.

We're excited by the cars in the works here in Queensland. If you are keen to join in the push to get Queensland back to a Sports Sedan grid of that size please feel free to get in touch with us.

Free spectator entry thanks to Morgan Park Raceway for the final QCRSC round of the year. Here's how the club points are playing out for our friends over at Series X3 Club Queensland inc. as we all gear up for a great weekend in Warwick.

First few days of entries sees Luke & Zane Rinaldi, Jackson Cooper and Allan Halstead as the first Excels on the list. They're joined by fellow one-make racers Jake Madden and Mark Strachan kicking off the HQ list.

Formula Ford, Sports and Racing Cars continue to give MPR event manager Jonno those early entries of confidence, with the Radicals of Adam Beesley, Carmelo Bonaventura, Matthew Powell, Michael McMillan and Grant Green joining Phil Kay's Dallara and the Formula Ford 1600's of Tim Hamilton, Michael Gillespie, Jerry Van de Pol and Thomas Kay making for 10 entries in less than a week, good stuff 👍

Meanwhile Chris Battista and Daniel Hay signed on with their MX5s together with Daniel Crompton opening the Sports Sedans account with the thundering Mustang.

Head to the Motorsport Australia entry system to enter. Expect plenty more entries to flow in over the coming weeks, but entries don't close until the Wednesday of the event (carports will likely run out well before that though, add a carport on while doing your entry). Early bird discount finishes on the 1st October.

Enter now, get the online process out of the way and look forward to a great event at the start of November, with spectators watching on having not been charged admission.

See Morgan Park Raceway social media for even more event details.
