🦶 Your Feet Deserve an Expert 🦶

Did you know podiatrists complete years of university training focused solely on the foot, ankle, and lower limb?
We’re the specialists in diagnosing and treating foot and ankle pain — from heel pain and sports injuries to complex conditions linked to diabetes and circulation.

When you see a podiatrist, you’re seeing a qualified health professional who understands how your feet move, how they affect your whole body, and how to get you back on track safely.

So if foot pain is slowing you down — don’t wait.
Trust your podiatrist. We’re here to help you move better, feel better, and live better.

👣 It’s Podiatry Week 2025! 👣

When most people think of podiatrists, they think of nail care — but that’s just one small part of what we do.
Every day, podiatrists help people overcome foot and ankle pain, stay active, and get back to doing what they love — whether that’s walking the dog, chasing after kids, or playing sport.

We’re proud to be part of a profession that helps people move better and live better at every stage of life.

If you’ve ever wondered what podiatrists really do, or you’re looking for a meaningful career that makes a difference — consider podiatry.
It’s about people, movement, and helping every step of the way.

🔍 Men’s Health: The GP Gap

Men visit the doctor less often than women
Globally, men are significantly less likely to seek medical care regularly. Studies show that men visit their GP 30–50% less frequently than women of the same age.

1 in 3 men avoid doctors due to fear or embarrassment
Research suggests that many men avoid medical help due to:
- Fear of bad news
- Embarrassment (especially around intimate or mental health issues)
- A belief they should “tough it out”

Preventive care is missed
Men are less likely to receive preventive screening (e.g., for prostate, bowel, or cardiovascular health). Regular GP visits are crucial for catching problems early.

The ‘invincibility’ mindset
Many men believe they should only go to the doctor if something is “really wrong.” This mindset creates a barrier to proactive health care and ongoing monitoring.

Men often prioritize work over health
A common reason for avoiding the doctor is time. Men often report that they are “too busy” or don't want to take time off work for a check-up.

💡 What Can Be Done?
Normalize check-ups through media, clinics, and workplaces.

Create male-friendly healthcare spaces — easy bookings, flexible hours, non-judgmental support.

Encourage conversations about health among peers and families.
