New RSV Vaccine Funding 💉
Starting 15 May 2026, the RSV vaccine is now funded through the NIP for:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60 years and over.

Adults aged 75 years and over.

Please Note: Currently, there is no NIP funding for RSV vaccines for individuals with specific medical risk conditions outside of these age groups.

Information about RSV vaccination, who it is recommended for, and how and where to get vaccinated. If you are eligible, you can get the maternal RSV vaccine for free under the National Immunisation Program.

Welcome to the team, Dr Nilusha Arachchige! 👋

We are thrilled to welcome Dr Nilusha Arachchige (MBBS, FRACGP) to Brewer Street Medical!

Dr Nilusha is a highly experienced General Practitioner who has been caring for patients across Australia for over 18 years, including more than 8 wonderful years dedicated to our local Redcliffe Peninsula community.

Dr Arachchige will be consulting full-time at our clinic, Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. (starting first week of May)

Awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Dr Arachchige is committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care across all stages of life. She focuses on providing evidence-based, holistic care tailored to your individual needs, and has substantial experience in:

Women’s Health (including Menopause Management, Pre-conception Counselling, Early Pregnancy & Postnatal Care)

Chronic Disease Management & Care Planning (including Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, and Cardiovascular Disease)

Flu vaccines for children have officially arrived at Brewer Street Medical Centre!

We know that "needle-nerves" can be a worry for many families. We are pleased to offer a needle-free nasal spray option for eligible children this year. This gentle spray is a quick and effective way to help protect your child before winter sets in.

Is my child eligible?
Flu vaccinations are recommended for all children aged 6 months and older. Eligibility for the needle-free nasal spray depends on your child's age and health history.

The Queensland Nasal Spray Flu Immunisation Program will be available from late March 2026 for all children aged 2 to 5 years (inclusive).

FluMist is a safe and effective, needle-free option for influenza vaccination. It is given as a gentle nasal spray into both nostrils, making it convenient for children who may prefer to avoid needles.

We have both:

-Government-funded (NIP) vaccines for eligible patients.

-Private vaccines available for the rest of our community.
(All Qlders are eligible for free flu vaccines)
