🚑 What if helping save a life only took 3 hours a month?

Right here in our community, volunteers with St John are making a real difference every single day.

And the truth is—we need more people.

Not superheroes.
Not full-time commitments.
Just everyday people willing to step up when they can.

💛 Community supporting community.

👉 Could that be you?

💚 Celebrating Our Volunteers – March Contribution 💚

In March, our incredible Kambalda volunteers donated 195 hours supporting both our Emergency Ambulance and Community Transport services. 🚑

That’s 195 hours of showing up, caring for others, and helping ensure we can respond to as many calls as possible across our community.

And that number only tells part of the story — it doesn’t include the countless hours spent coordinating services, running our committee, and caring for our spaces behind the scenes.

While we are so proud of what our team achieves, the reality is we don’t always have enough crew to attend every job. That’s why we’d love to welcome new volunteers in 2026 to help us continue supporting our community.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, now is a great time to click the link and learn more. 💚

Thank you to every single volunteer — your generosity and commitment do not go unnoticed.

💛 R U OK? Day – Let’s Have a Chat, Kambalda! 💛

Tomorrow, Thursday 11th September, join us at the Kambalda Recreation Facility from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm for a friendly chat with our St John Kambalda team.

It’s a great chance to take a moment for yourself, ask someone “Are you OK?”, or just have a coffee and connect with your community. Even small conversations can make a big difference.

We’ll be there, relaxed, ready to listen, and happy to have a yarn. Come along – your wellbeing matters!

🚑💛 A Little Help From Our Friends 💛🚒

Big shoutout to our mates at Kambalda Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service who jumped in to lend a hand after a motor vehicle accident.

With two patients needing transport and only 3 St John officers on scene, a VFRS officer kindly took the wheel of our second ambulance so both patients could get to hospital safely and quickly.

This is what true community spirit looks like — stepping up, working together, and looking out for one another.

We literally couldn’t do it without a little help from our friends sometimes. 🙌

Thank you to all our fellow emergency service volunteers for everything you do! 💚

Volunteer Week 2025

What better way to spend an evening celebrating than with our fellow vollies. Kambalda Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service thanks for hosting the evening.

We had a ball catching up in a social setting.

With thanks to all of our volunteers in the community, things wouldn’t get done without your dedication and effort.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the unexpected death of Ruben WIlls.

In his time here, Ruben was a dedicated Vollie for the Kambalda Sub Centre and our community.

He was integral in the refurbishments that gave the town the ambulance facility we now have. They wouldn't haven't happened without him!

When he wasn't in greens, he taught the children of the community the joy of music.

He will forever be remembered in Kambalda as Mr Wills, the Music Teacher or Ruben, the Ambo. An incredibly generous, creative, and kind man.

Our love and support go out to his wife and son, as well as his family, and to all those who will feel his loss deeply.

Vale Ruben.
