😑 Is your child finding it hard to manage their anger? 😠 You're not alone, our compassionate Positive Behavior Support practitioners are ready to assist.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) takes a person-centred approach to challenging behaviours. It focuses on individual needs, addressing stressors, and skill development rather than just eliminating behaviours.

Live regionally? PBS is a telehealth accessible service, allowing you to access critical services no matter where you live.

Are you ready to start understanding what drives your children's behaviour? NO child wants to be angry and difficult. For more information: https://connectpts.com.au/therapy-services/

This month, Tara McGrath, our Positive Behaviour Support Team Lead, joined the Rural Mental Health Conference in Hobart. She found it to be a truly enriching experience filled with valuable insights on mental health challenges in rural communities.

Sessions on play therapy and Indigenous perspectives provided fresh ideas for supporting children and families in the Pilbara.

Well done, Tara! ✨

Did you know that we offer diagnostic assessments? Clinical Psychologist, Naomi Ward visits regularly, enabling us to offer assessments for children for disorders including:
⭐️ Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
⭐️ Dyslexia and Dyscalculia
⭐️ Autism Spectrum Disorder
⭐️ Cognitive Assessments

⭐ Why would your child need a diagnostic assessment?
A diagnostic assessment is required to enable you to access funding for services that can assist your child. If your child struggles with persistent difficulties in areas like attention, learning, social skills, communication and behavior significantly interfere with their daily life, school, and friendships, our assessments might be right for you.

Last week, we basked in the glow of ! 🌍 From our very first moments, communication flows through us. While early babbles may lack coherence, we gradually refine our expression with language and gestures as we grow.

Have an inkling that your little one isn't communicating and babbling in an age-appropriate way? We're proud to be a delivery partner of the Inklings Program, a ground-breaking initiative in WA which supports babies aged 6-18 months who are showing early differences in their social interaction and communication development.

Inklings is making a difference for families across Australia, including those we support here at Connect. We’re proud to partner with Inklings and The Kids Research Institute Australia to help families build stronger connections from the very beginning.

Hey Simone πŸ‘‹! Have you met our new Practice Manager?

Originally from Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, Simone moved to Perth with her husband and three kids in 2012 before moving to Karratha at the start 2022.

Simone has experience in a variety of roles which led her to the medical industry. She enjoys learning about and relating to families with children who need additional support as Simone has two children that have required specialised support such as speech pathology in the past.

In her spare time you can find Simone spending time with her family, having movie nights with her kids and watching them participate in local sporting events.

Thanks for being a valued member of our team, Simone! πŸ’™
