Faime and the Heart Horses at Yaandina Community and Residentlial Care.
The residents and clients benefit immensely from visits with the horses.
When we visit we sit together in the garden, reminiscing about the old days on stations in the Pilbara and beyond, sharing childhood memories. These visits create a safe, calm and relaxed environment where our residents feel comfortable opening up and sharing their stories. This time in the back yard helps us all connect with country.
Some of the members whom are using walking aides, stand independently holding or grooming the horses.
Several walk with their walking frames leading a horse at the session.
On this visit it was Halloween and Max joined the party inside briefly, he has special shoes and a potty bag.
