When a client makes you smile like this!

Thank you Faime and the Heart Herd for being there for our son for all of 2025.

I think back to the early sessions about how you taught him to use his energy with your beautiful horses and how every session after has been centred around this

He is no longer someone that struggles the way he use to.

You have given him tools for the rest of his life Faime.

🧠💥 POLYVAGAL THEORY (aka “Why you snapped at your partner, cried in Tesco, and then needed a nap… all in the same hour.”)

Let’s make it simple. Like, ponies-in-a-field simple. 🐴

Because your nervous system? She’s dramatic. She has moods. And she doesn’t always let your brain know what she’s doing.

So let’s meet the three ponies of Polyvagal Theory:

🖤 Fight-or-Flight Pony – jumpy, twitchy, ready to bolt because someone looked at them funny. Will probably scream if you drop a spoon.
(Yes, this is why you couldn't reply to that text. Or got irrationally angry at the slow WiFi.)

🤍 Safe and Social Pony – this pony is vibing. Makes eye contact. Can handle a chat. Will help you carry your emotional bags AND make you a cuppa.
(This is the version of you that’s brushing your horse, laughing with a mate, and actually responding to emails.)

🤎 Shutdown Pony – she’s DONE. Over it. Can’t even. Has entered energy-saving mode like an old laptop.
(Not lazy. Not rude. Just nervous system: unplugged.)

💡Polyvagal Theory says:
You’re not broken.
You’re not overreacting.
Your body is just trying to protect you — sometimes in ways that feel ridiculous (but make total sense underneath).

🎄💙 Community gratitude post (from our Director, Carol) 💙🎄

As I look back on 2025, I’m feeling incredibly grateful — and honestly, a little emotional.

To our community: thank you. Thank you for trusting us, backing us, showing up, asking questions, learning alongside us, and believing that inclusion isn’t a “nice extra” — it’s essential. Your support is the reason these spaces, conversations, and moments exist.

To our small but mighty team — this year has reminded me just how special you are. You consistently show up for the cause, for each other, for the families we walk alongside… and for me.

As someone who almost always has more ideas than capacity, as a mum to three children with support needs, and as someone carrying a big vision for communities where the next generation can truly thrive — I can say with certainty that I could not have done this year alone.

And while it might not always be visible from the outside, 2025 has been tough. There have been moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, change, and recalibration. But through it all, this team has rallied — offering time, energy, compassion, and care (sometimes when they had very little left to give). That matters more than I can put into words.

Our team has changed a little this year, but what we’re proving — together — is that inclusion and wellbeing don’t require huge resources or perfection. They require commitment. A willingness to learn. To listen. To accommodate. To adapt. Little by little.

Thank you for believing in this work. Thank you for standing beside us. And thank you to a team who reminds me every day why this matters so deeply.

With gratitude,
Carol 🤍

As the year winds down I’d like to thank you all for supporting my little business, it truly fills my cup to make a difference in the day of others with my beautiful equine partners.

The horses are heading South until April and we are already planning a meaningful 2026.

Love this!

Love this!

Ever reacted in a way that surprised you… and then realised it wasn’t actually about the moment at all?

Most of us have. And the HALT model explains why.

✨ H.A.L.T. is one of the simplest emotional check-ins we have, yet most adults forget it exists.

H – Hungry 🍽️
Your body cannot regulate emotions on an empty tank. Even horses lose patience when their guts are empty.

A – Angry 🔥
Not rage. Sometimes it’s the low-level irritation you’ve been carrying without noticing.

L – Lonely 🤍
Connection is a biological need, not a luxury. We’re herd animals pretending we’re not.

T – Tired 😴
Fatigue turns tiny challenges into mountains. Nothing works properly when you’re running on fumes.

HALT isn’t about dismissing your feelings.
It’s about understanding them before you judge yourself.

If everything feels a bit too much today, pause.
Check the basics.
Offer yourself the same compassion you’d offer your horse.

Which one catches you out the most — H, A, L or T?
I’m always intrigued by what shows up across this community.
