Kathy Balson – Exercise Physiologist
Kathy has worked as an Exercise Physiologist for over 20 years, having completed her qualifications in 2002. Since then, she has continued to build on her expertise with a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, and most recently, a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Health Medicine from UNSW.
Her career has spanned a diverse range of settings, including private practice, hospitals, industrial health, mobile services, and community-based care. She has extensive experience in women’s health, disability, and aged care, and has supported clients across all stages of life.
Over time, she has been consistently drawn to working with women. Even when supporting clients with various health conditions, she has observed that women’s health often plays a central role in overall wellbeing. Now, as she navigates the menopausal years herself, she brings a deeper, lived understanding of the unique challenges women face during midlife. This perspective has further strengthened her passion for helping women enhance their health, function, and quality of life during this transformative stage.
She also enjoys working with women at every life stage — including adolescence, pregnancy, postpartum, and into older age — always with a focus on evidence-based, compassionate care.
Based in the Blue Mountains for over 20 years, she has raised two children in this vibrant community and feels privileged to support local women to feel strong, healthy, and confident in their bodies.
Kathy's first day at the clinic will be Friday 25th July. Welcome Kathy, we can't wait for you to join us! .community.exphysiology
