Our last Ecstatic Dance of the year was powerful and so much fun! 🌸

Dancers were invited to bring any emotion that was present for them and explore it with the help of the dance.
Not to let go of, but to open and listen.
All our emotions have a message for us.
And they want our attention!

The last Ecstatic Dance of the year is almost here! 💃🏼

This time I would like to explore welcoming all our so-called “negative” emotions, whatever they are.

The grief, the anger, the fear…
Why have they been labelled as negative?
I think because they are uncomfortable,
and we live in a world that runs away from discomfort.

But then we overlook that all those emotions have a place.
They all have a message.

Anger is our boundary system.
Grief helps us process loss (of someone or something).
Fear is our survival system.
And so on.

So, whatever emotion is present for you on the day (whether “positive” or “negative”), bring it to the dance floor.
Let’s open to it.
Let’s honour it.
Let’s listen to it.
Let’s embody it through the dance.

Come and connect with yourself and your community on the dance floor.

Upon arrival, find your place in the space, silently set an intention for the dance, stretch and connect with your body, and then allow the music to move you.

The music will set the rhythm of the dance: more flowy in the beginning, growing to more up-beat tracks, and slowly coming down into stillness.

We will dance for 60–75 mins and will end the gathering with a beautiful sound healing.

Feeling the grief of inhabiting an aging body?

I believe the first step, before we can take our wise woman/man seat, and embody the power that comes with this transition, is to acknowledge the grief that comes with the loss of youth, with the loss of the body, with the loss of our vitality as we know it.
Let's not bypass this grief and go into acceptance mode.
It is hard to get old.
And that needs to be acknowledged.
It hasn't been for eons.
Let's change that.
Let's talk about it.

Our celebration of "El Dia de los Mu***os" at our last Ecstatic Dance was truly beautiful 💃🏼

Holding all our ancestors in our hearts, we connected with the amazing qualities we have inherited, let go of anything in our system that doesn't belong to us,
and open the flow of love in our lives.

Our hearts were open, we connected with ourselves and with each other,
with the earth, with all that is. A beautiful drum journey at the end helped us embody all that we had discovered.

Dance is such an incredible medicine.

LET'S TALK ABOUT ADDICTIONS

Every addiction is masking something.
If we really pay attention and listen, we can see what it is that we are trying to keep buried.
Instead of putting ourselves down, we can enquiry with curiosity.
And as we see and heal that,
the addiction will naturally fade away.
I truly believe that.

Obviously some addictions are more detrimental than others, but are we all trying to mask the pain of being human?
I know from personal experience that it is possible to face our deepest fears.
Only then we can start fully living.
Reach out if you need some support.
I have been there.
In the darkest hole imaginable.
And I made it out.
So can anyone.

Ecstatic Dance is on again this Sunday!

I am very excited to be celebrating “El Dia de los Mu***os” with my community this Sunday.

Before we start dancing, there will be an opportunity to place in the altar any photos or objects of your loved ones that you would like to honour and remember.

We will be dancing for them all.
We will be sending them our love.
We will be embodying all the amazing qualities that they blessed our lives with.
We can also let go of anything that stands in the way of love.

Upon arrival, place any photos or objects you brought with you in the altar, taking your time to connect with your loved ones you would like to honour. Then, find your place in the space, stretch and connect with your body, and allow the music to move you.

The music will set up the rhythm of the dance: more flowy in the beginning, growing to more up-beat tracks and slowly coming down into stillness.

We will dance for 60-75 min and will end the gathering with a beautiful sound healing.

At our next Ecstatic Dance on the 2nd of November, we will be celebrating "El dia de los mu***os" (The day of the dead) and we will be dancing for all our ancestors 💃🏼

In my culture, this is the time of the year in which we revere our ancestors and loved ones that have crossed over.
It is said that the veil between our world and their world is much thinner this time, so it’s a great opportunity to honour them and ask for wisdom and blessings for our lives.
I hope you can join us.
There is so much healing when we bow to our ancestors and recognise that we are here because of them. Regardless of the circumstances.

This image represents a powerful healing practice that I recommend to all my therapy clients.

Holding our young self on a regular basis. Offering them all the love and support and reassurance that perhaps they didn’t have back then. Reminding them how beautiful and special they are. How perfect they are. How divine they are. That they can just let go in the loving embrace of our adult self.

Because the truth is that whatever happened to us, and even if we are lucky enough to be able to do some repair (for most of us that is not going to be the case), we are the only ones that can reparent ourselves.

My invitation is, whenever we catch ourselves being triggered about someone or something, we can stop, and picture our young self, and hold them in our heart and remind them that they are now safe, that it’s not back then anymore, it is now, we are adults now, we can take care of business, we have their backs. They don’t need to do anything. They can just rest.

And slowly those young parts can start relaxing and trusting us, and the stress response slowly diminishes.

And then, most importantly, we can invite them to come out and play. And through them, we can reconnect with our own innocence, our joy, our playfulness, our curiosity, our beingness.

Such beautiful practice.

So much love for my little one. For all the little ones. Sending love to all children in the world ❤️
