We're happy to be doing our bit to support the Blue Mountains Police community drive for the Kids with Cancer Foundation. Remember, there's still plenty of time to drop in your donations right here at the pharmacy!

Thank you, Greenwell and Thomas Pharmacy Katoomba, for the items you have collected and donated for the Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia appeal.

Sergeant Jason Hattch received your donation at Katoomba Police Station and was very impressed by the generosity in supporting the appeal.

Your assistance has greatly benefited our appeal, especially with the specialty items donated by your Pharmacy. These will be a welcome inclusion in the Care Packs, distributed to children around the country who are receiving cancer treatment.

Our appeal continues until the 15th December so, there is plenty of time to drop your donations at either Katoomba or Springwood Police Stations. If you have items to donate but can't make it to one of our 24/7 Police Stations, send an email to Chief Inspector Garry Sims on; 33211@police.nsw.gov.au

We are pleased to announce that Greenwell and Thomas Pharmacy Katoomba have joined with us as donors and collection point for our 2025 Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia appeal.

This will provide even greater opportunities for people to drop a donation off in support of our Christmas gift to the Foundation from the people of the Blue Mountains.

Last financial year, the Foundation handed out nearly 6,000 Care Packs For Kids - your contribution, small or large, means savings can be passed onto other areas the Foundation is active in like research into childhood cancer, placement of specialist doctors and nurses, direct financial assistance to families and the Wigs4Kids program.

So, when in the Katoomba CBD, it is now even easier to drop of a donation to the staff at Greenwell and Thomas Pharmacy in Katoomba Street.

Coca-Cola was invented by a pharmacist!

American pharmacist James Pemberton, who was addicted to morphine as a result of a Civil War injury, initially came up with Coca Cola in 1886 as a replacement for morphine.

The original recipe was a sweetened syrup containing co***ne (yes, co***ne!) from the coca leaf and caffeine from the kola nut and was touted as a medicinal tonic to treat common ailments like headaches and fatigue.

And as if inventing the world's most popular soft drink wasn't enough, Pepsi and Dr Pepper...yep, invented by pharmacists too!
