We're pleased to announce that we now offer Menopause & Perimenopause Health Assessments.

This dedicated 30-minute appointment with your regular GP focuses on the assessment and management of menopause or perimenopause symptoms, giving you the time and attention needed to discuss your health concerns.

Availability: Once per year (Medicare requirement)

Eligibility:
• Medicare-eligible patients
• Haven't received this service in the past 12 months
• Experiencing premature ovarian insufficiency, early menopause, perimenopause, menopause symptoms, or currently undergoing treatment

Fee:
$204 upfront with Medicare rebate of $101.90

We are excited to share that Dr Alex I-Hsiang Wu will begin consulting from the rooms at KWMC from tomorrow. His regular practicing days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Alex Wu has returned to Brisbane and is excited to see new patients at the Kedron Wavell Medical Centre.
He is passionate about all aspects of general practice and along the entire spectrum of life, from pregnancy to paediatrics, adulthood and elderly care. In addition to acute presentations, Dr Alex is a strong advocate towards preventative medicine. He has for many years been involved in aged care and is particularly interested in coordinating the care of complex chronic diseases especially in the elderly. Dr Alex performs ear suction and implanon insertion/removal procedures at the Kedron Wavell Medical Centre.

Dr Alex grew up in New Zealand before moving to Brisbane to study Medicine at the University of Queensland. After obtaining his degree (MBBS/BSc) in 2014, he worked at The Prince Charles Hospital and Redcliffe Hospital before deciding to follow his passion in primary care. Working in General Practice since 2018, he obtained his fellowship (FRACGP) in 2021 and continued to work in Brisbane until 2023 when he decided to travel and develop further experiences across Australia in a post pandemic landscape. Having since worked in clinics both metro and rural in VIC/NSW/TAS & central QLD, he returned to his home in Brisbane at the start of 2025 and is looking to establish long term relationships with patients old and new.

In his down time, Dr Alex enjoys road trips to visit small towns, hiking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Alex Wu operates his own medical services business at Kedron Wavell Medical Centre, and is able to consult in English and Mandarin.

Our GPs will be available via telehealth only from 8:00AM-9:30AM.
You can still book telehealth appointments via HotDoc. Limited admin staff will be available to take calls during this time.

If the doctors lose power or internet access and are unable to proceed with the consult during these time, we will do our best to notify you, as soon as we can.

If we are unable to proceed with the consult and you still require a doctor urgently, please call Hello Home Doctor on 134-100, or in the case of an emergency, call 000.

Thursday 06/03/2025:

Kedron Wavell Medical Centre is pleased to introduce Dr Matilda Robertson as one of our new registrars for 2025.

Dr Matilda Robertson is excited to commence as a General Practitioner Registrar with Kedron Wavell Medical Centre in 2025. After graduating from Bond University with a Bachelor of Medical Studies and a Doctor of Medicine in 2021, Matilda has developed a passion for Women’s and Children’s medicine through her experiences at Ipswich Hospital.

She has spent an extensive amount of time working in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, choosing to further her Women’s Health knowledge by participating in the RANZCOG Certificate of Women’s Health and the Maternal Emergency Program. Most recently, she has been working as a Paediatric PHO and has managed a wide variety of presentations, ranging from newborn resuscitation to adolescent behavioural disorders.

Matilda feels privileged to be given the opportunity to walk alongside her patients in their life journey, and treats this responsibility with the utmost respect. She believes forming meaningful and genuine connections is the key to achieving best outcomes.

During her free time Matilda enjoys spending time in the sunshine with her loved ones, whether that be at the beach, on a walk, or on a bike ride!

Kedron Wavell Medical Centre is pleased to introduce Dr Brittany Schlimmer as one of our new registrars for 2025.

After graduating from Bond University in 2022, Britt moved to Brisbane to commence her clinical training and to be close to her immediate family.

Britt worked at The Prince Charles Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital during her internship and junior house officer year, completing rotations in emergency, medicine, obstetrics, and surgery.

Britt has dual training in GP and has completed her ACEM foundational emergency certificate. She enjoys all aspects of general practice and always advocates for her patients using a holistic approach.

Her areas of interest include paediatrics, adolescent health, obstetrics/gynaecology, and emergency medicine.

During her free time, Britt enjoys international travel with her husband, baking treats, and spending time with her bengal cats, Felix and Luna.

Dr Schlimmer is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
