Things can either be sn*******ng out of control... or into the right direction. I'm talking to myself here too!

The snowball starts with just a few small snowflakes that build and build until momentum begins to compound.

Our healthy habits (or not so healthy habits!) are much the same! It might start with a little more water during the day, a short walk and fresh air, improved quality of sleep, a better mood, improving your nutritional choices... and little by little things beging to snowball IN TO your control.

How do we get on top of them??

Let’s be honest, there is a LOT going on... and our habits may be challenges and slipping a little.

Our Community have a heap of support coming your way in the coming days and weeks - But for now here are a few hacks to get back on track!

😴 SLEEP - Get enough of it!
⠀⠀
This shouldn’t be too hard at the moment..!!? Sleep regulates appetite, blood sugar and improves insulin sensitivity. It is your major line of defence against sugar cravings!⠀

I personally need to work on this for myself 🔋

🥑 REGULAR “MINI-MEALS”
⠀⠀
If your hunger levels are unbearable, eat more (of the right choices!) Make sure you're eating regularly every 2-3 hours & include a quality protein source in each feed, which leads to..⠀

🍗 PROTEIN
⠀⠀
Aim for at least 20g protein per meal (eg. 100g chicken breast or rump steak, 120g white fish or 4 large eggs). Protein promotes satiety which will reduce cravings.⠀

🍩 QUIT THE SUGAR
⠀⠀
It's addictive & NOT breaking the cycle makes cravings worse.

💦 Hydration is also key. While at home set yourself up with a big water bottle and aim to refill it at least 2-3 time’s per day.

As Melbourne is facing an even harsher lockdown period. This is of course for the safety of ourselves, our loved ones and the wider community.⁣

I have felt a shift in the last couple of hours that I haven't felt since the start of the pandemic. ⁣

Here are my thoughts 💭⁣
❤️ Mental health support needs to be the topic of everyone's conversations throughout this period. Check up on your loved ones⁣
📝 Make a list of everything you would never have had time for if the world was back to normal. For me it's study 📚 ⁣
🥦Keep your health in check ⁣
💡Start thinking of ways in which you could benefit from this time [chat to me if you're wanting to start your own side hustle 😉]⁣

My business has fortunately been able to keep pivoting throughout this period, so to help anyone that needs it I will be sending out 3 Day Trial packs all this week. ⁣

Nutrition for the body AND the mind is when the true change can be felt inside of us all.

It's Sunday Night. Perfect time to be prepared and ready for the week ahead.
Give yourself permission to pick up a book, pump your favourite music, listen to a podcast... some sort of action that will change your state for the better.

Anyone feel like Burritos for dinner?! Let’s do it! .... a healthy version of course 👌🏻

This is a great example of how you can still enjoy the things you love, but with a slight adjustment that won’t throw you off track.

Below is an example of a balanced plate - including proteins, carbohydrates and healthy fats. All essential for a sustainable approach to your wellness & lifestyle.

If you make this as a family dinner, maybe others can add in regular burritos or tacos... And if you want to as well - head for a gluten free option where possible.

However, try building your own bowl or plate with the family without the burritos/tacos too! Add some black/red/basmati rice for some additional carbohydrates to top it off 👌🏻

It’s fun, it’s quick and easy - and won’t leave anyone hungry that is for sure.

Mix it up with chicken, fish or tofu for different protein options.

Just like that, our 21-Day Elevate Challenge has come to an end and 🤩 were we blown away with the results!!!

Congratulations Aaron for taking out the MALE SHRED category and blowing us away with your transformation.

It's amazing to see what 21 days can do when you make the decision.

Some simple ways to make sure we are looking after ourselves and our family:

1. NUTRIENTS & VITAMIN D
It is so important (more than ever in these times) to make sure we are fuelling ourselves for health, as well as getting some fresh air and sunshine every day - personally I also choose to top up with my nutrients with supplementation as well.

2. MINDFUL INPUT
Do yourself a favour an limit the amount of new and social media that you are soaking in. Of course stay up to date with the important announcements... but also have your time to stay offline & get stuck into a good book, connecting with a loved one on the phone/zoom or just putting some music on that changes your state.

3. RELEASE THE RESISTANCE
No one is over the moon about the current state of the world. But what we can control is who we are as human beings going through this process. If you have a mask on, smile with your eyes. If you think of someone, send them a kind message or pick up the phone to see if they are OK. Release the frustration (as challenging as it can be) and be the difference to helping others get through this time as best you can.

Good thoughts.
Good words.
Good actions.

We are all in this together.
