A new study sheds light on how highly sensitive people process information. After experiencing something emotionally evocative, brain activity displayed a depth of processing while at rest. Depth of processing is a key feature of high emotional sensitivity.

We can slowly return to something that resembles normality. I must admit I have some anxiety about stepping out again as my home has become my workplace, my son’s classroom and my comfort zone over the last 7 months.

But we will adjust, and one day 2020 will be something interesting to tell our grandchildren about.

For many of us it has been a traumatic and difficult year. We must remember how strong we were to endure this and value the freedoms that we lost over this time.

Well done to all Victorians for surviving months of lockdown.

So relieved to have my teenage clients starting back to school today (and my son). So much anxiety but we will survive.

This year has been hard. Gut wrenchingly hard.

We’ve likely all had moments where we’ve thought about giving up. Moments we feel like we can’t take any more.

But then we remember moments in our lives in the past where we felt the same. And we have gotten through every one of these challenges.

You are almost there. You are a survivor. You can do this.
