With Father's Day coming up, we enjoyed a special theme in our Building Connections group yesterday - we designed "Man Caves" for the special fathers in our lives. This sparked much discussion and thought on what Dad would want in his special room. A great exercise in perspective taking indeed!

Can you spot some of the special features? We have large screen TVs, pool tables, sports memorabilia and even a massive chocolate wall! ⚽️🍫🖥

Our Early Primary Narrative group spent some time yesterday working on describing the character of their Dad. We then practised making up our own personal narratives to tell stories about time spent with their father or other special person. Some amazing creativity is coming out in their stories!

Our Kindergarten Concept kiddos are learning about body parts and clothing this week. It is important to develop the ability to talk about our bodies before school so that we can describe problems if we have them. It also allows us to describe feelings and talk about the clothes we need for different situations.

This week our Kindergarten Concept kiddos are practising their shape vocabulary as well as skills such as:
- matching
- problem solving
- following instructions

Working on this vocabulary now will help them with their early numeracy skills at school next year. We are all about giving these kiddos the best start!

Our Foundation FUNdamentals kiddos met a new friend to help them along with their sound train phonological awareness activity yesterday - you should have seen their smiles! Puppets can increase attention and engagement, and the read3 sound train activity helps work on important phonological awareness skills such as hearing and manipulating sounds in words. Win-win!

In our Clinician Catch Up last week the team spent some time reflecting on learnings from the book "PDA in the Therapy Room" by Raelene Dundon.

We discussed cases together as well as strategies to implement so that we get the best outcomes for our clients. Our admin team and clinicians all participated so that we have a united team approach that reflects our values in all our client interactions from the moment kids enter the clinic.

We spent some time in the Williamstown clinic today celebrating Kathryn who will start her maternity leave at the end of this week - exciting times ahead! It was a joy to see one of Kathryn's clients help put up some of the decorations after his session this morning ☺️

This week our Kindergarten Concepts group kiddos are having a colourful start to the term! We are having some great group discussions about colour mixing and our favourite colours too!

We still have limited places remaining in our Monday and Thursday groups so please reach out if you are interested in this program, which is suitable for children in four year old kindergarten.
