What a large group of runners & walkers today - 142 in total!

Congratulations to the following people who achieved milestones
πŸ”΄ Lucy who joined the 50 CLUB
⚫️ Tung who joined the 100 CLUB

We welcomed 7 people who completed their first EVER parkrun today. We hope you loved our course and hope to see you again this Saturday - same time, same place. There were also a couple of people who were not registered that did their first parkrun today. Please do register and hope to see you soon so we can record your results.

Hello to 26 people who experienced Brimbank parkrun for the first time. Thank-you for visiting and hope to see you again soon

We know that parkrun isn't a race but it does feel pretty good to achieve your best time ever on our course. 27 of you did just that! We hope your PB's are short lived

Finally, there would be no Brimbank parkrun without our AMAZING & FRIENDLY volunteers. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered this week - Amanda, Candice, Jasmine, Natasha, Nicole, Paul, Sam & Shane.

A big thank-you to anyone who put their name down on the roster today for future weeks, your help is much appreciated.

Looking to next week - we have two more CORE roles to fill - First Timer's Welcome & Finish Tokens. If you want to put your name down for either of therse roles, comment below or e-mail brimbank@parkrun.com

Our future roster can be view here - https://www.parkrun.com.au/brimbank/futureroster/

Good evening, who is ready for parkrun tomorrow?

Just a few gentle reminders

πŸ˜€First time at Brimbank parkrun? Please arrive by 7.50am for the First Timers Welcome

πŸ˜€ The run director will hold her briefing at 7.55am. We kindly ask you listen to all the messages being provided and refrain from talking over the run Director

πŸ˜€ We may have increased crowds tomorrow due to the closure of 3 Melbourne parkruns. Please be patient with volunteers if it takes a bit longer than usual to scan your barcode

πŸ˜€ Please ensure you only go through the finish line once to avoid any confusion with the results

πŸ˜€ Please hand your token in after you cross the line. Finish Tokens are not souvenir, we need them back for next week.

πŸ˜€ There are a number of loose rocks on the hill. Please ensure you run/walk down the hill single file to allow other people and park users to overtake. Other parts of the course are wide enough to allow you to walk next to someone else.

Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning.

Parkrun is a great family activity but we need to ensure everyone participates in a safe manner. Please ensure any children under the age of 11 are within arms reach of a trusted adult

We love to see children enjoying parkrun from an early age! 🌳

As part of our commitment to child safety, we require all children under the age of 11 at all parkrun events to be within arm's reach of a parent or responsible adult.

Thank you for allowing parkrun to remain safe and fun for everyone!

27/02/2026

It was quite humid out there this morning πŸ₯΅, but so very grateful to see the 151 people who were able to join us for parkrun.

Thank you for your understanding with us using the alternate course - gates weren't reopened after Wednesdays flooding.

We had 38 people join us for their first time at Brimbank - we hope to see you again; We had 14 people achieve PB's - congratulations 🎊.

A massive thank you to our volunteers for helping make Brimbank parkrun happen. Thank you to - Natasha Piner, Archer Millen, Scarlet Millen, Louise Millen, Charles Gavriel, Colin Gadsden, Toan Bui, Eva Karpiesiuk, and Zoran Petrovski.

If you are ever interested in volunteering, please have a chat to us at the event, or drop us an email at Brimbank@parkrun.com. We'd love to have you join our team of volunteers.

Good morning,

We will be using the alternate course today as we have found that one of the Ford gates was closed well into our course check. This poses a safety issue so we cannot use the standard course

We are working hard to get the alternate course course marked but there may be a slight delay in getting this completed and parkrun started but hope everything runs to time.

We appreciate your patience.

(Some important messages for tomorrow, so if you can give a 'like' and/or comment with an emoji so more people can see this message - thank you!)

Good afternoon Brimbank parkrun community

With three large Melbourne parkruns closed tomorrow, we are expecting a bigger crowd than normal at Brimbank. Maybe only a few extra, maybe a lot, we are unsure. Therefore we do kindly ask you keep the following in mind:

πŸ˜€ If you are visiting Brimbank parkrun for the 1st time, please arrive by 7.50am so that you can attend the First Timers Welcome to get an overview of our course. We do use a number of signs on the course but it is important to attend the briefing as our course is part trail and there are some spots which runners & walkers need to be aware of

πŸ˜€ Every week, we are continuing to get a small number of people arriving to parkrun after we have yelled 'Ready, Set, parkrun!' Whilst we cannot stop you from starting the course after we have commenced (as it's a public space), our tailwalker is removing signs as they are completing the course so if you are not familiar with the course you may get lost without these signs. Please give yourself enough time to arrive early. If you start late we cannot advise the tailwalker to wait for you so you are starting 'at your own risk'

πŸ˜€ 7.55am - our Run Director will be providing their briefing. We know everyone is keen to start BUT we do kindly ask you please refrain from talking during the briefing. Standing up & speaking in front of 100+ people can be nerve wracking. Standing up in front of 100+ people AND hearing their conversations makes the job much harder. There are messages that will apply to everyone during the briefing so we please ask you give up 5 minutes of your time to listen. The Run Director & Volunteers have given up to 90 minutes of their time, we don't think 5 minutes is too much to ask. If you have a dog that becomes vocal during the briefing, please walk away so others can hear what is being said.

πŸ˜€ Please be kind to our volunteers. They have given up their run/walk so you can do yours. We have put on extra people tomorrow but we are unsure how busy we will get so if things are taking a bit longer, please be patient.

πŸ˜€ Finally, we do have parts of our course (such as the hill) that are narrow. It is really important that people (including other park users) are able to pass you if required so please do not walk or run two abreast on the hill. Other parts of the course are wide enough you can do this but if people are not able to pass you whilst you run/walk with someone else, please run/walk one behind the other.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
