Weight Training
I have been going to a gym most of my adult life … something that keeps me happy, healthy and active. There has been lapses due to many reasons, however I have always come back.
Working out at the gym along with my yoga keeps my mental and physical health in balance. Despite all the physical activities, I had put on a lot of fat due to menopause! That was not good for my mental wellbeing. My body was not able to show all the hard work, I have been putting in.
So, I went through extensive aesthetic surgery to get rid of my fat deposits! I have no doubt that this was the best thing I did for myself!!
Returning to the gym post surgery was very therapeutic and satisfying!!!
As we grow older, we do need to incorporate more exercise in our routine. One of them should be weight bearing exercises- it helps to keep our bones and muscles strong and supple.
I know my body is responding to the gentle yoga 🧘🏽♀️routine and I am starting from the beginning with my gym workout 🏋🏽♀️ . It’s all about turning up and showing up for yourself. 💜
My new motto: Grow older and wiser, age gracefully and live disgracefully!!!! 😁
