Why do so many humans find it challenging to face pain, trauma and past hurts?
Many of us have them. Deep pains, trauma, hurts, that sit deep inside us, locked away, hidden, pushed way down, yet we know that they are there.
We sometimes even realise when they are showing up and impacting our current experience, twisting or influencing our experience in a way that doesn't serve us, or that we wish it wouldn't.
Yet we feel powerless to overcome it. It's there. You know it's there, but you feel powerless to do anything about it.
Why is that?
Sometimes, it's because people have the belief or notion that if you uncork that bottle of pain, trauma, challenge, heartache, heartbreak, loss, or grief, then you won't be able to get the cork back in when you want to.
There is a fear (whether conscious or unconscious) that the pain, hurt, heartache, trauma, grief, loss or pain will just stay there drowning you.
Here's the thing:
1. You aren't meant to cork it again. You aren't meant to lock it all up again. The purpose of uncorking it IS to let it out, to feel it, see it, own it, and allow it to move through you. And through the acknowledgement, through the feeling of it, there you have power to release it, to let it move through you and then be able to let it go.
2. It won't kill you, or bury you or destroy you in the way that you fear it will. In fact the opposite happens. Through the experiencing and acknowledging, the allowing to face the trauma, pain, hurt and grief or loss, it loses its Force, it loses its power.
Just like the tidal wave washes up and overwhelms, it then recedes, and it settles and becomes a calm that you can actually manage. Yes it may still be there.
But it has been Seen.
Heard
Felt
Acknowledged
And in time, even healed.
and that is how you move forward.
Sending you all Love, Courage, Strength, Clarity and Honesty 🩷💚
