The subscapularis is often the overlooked muscle in shoulder restriction and pain cases.

It may be worth considering if you're struggling with any of these:
- Reaching your bra strap
- Washing or brushing your hair
- Putting on a jacket or coat
- Grabbing something from the back seat
- Reaching into your back pocket
- Tucking in a shirt at the back
- Lifting your arm out to the side
- Sleeping on the affected shoulder
- Carrying a bag on that side

The muscle sits deep inside the front of your shoulder blade, which makes it genuinely difficult to reach and treat from the outside.

If stretching hasn't resolved it, the muscle may have lost its ability to contract and relax properly. That's a different problem than tightness, and it needs a different approach.

I think it turned out pretty okay? 😄

Everything’s starting to arrive. I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much in one go but nevertheless it’s been really fun shopping for stuff and figuring out how it’ll fit with the ambience I’m going for.

I’m definitely enjoying the process and I’m proud with how everything’s coming along.

I’m aiming to reveal the completed treatment room next week. I hope you all look forward to it!

Not long to go now!

In Chinese Medicine, migraines often relate to tension, internal heat or disrupted circulation rising toward the head, affecting how Qi and Blood move through the neck and temples.

When circulation becomes restricted or excessive in this area, it can create throbbing pain, sensitivity to light or sound, and tightness through the neck and shoulders. Triggers such as stress, hormonal shifts, poor sleep or dietary strain can contribute to this pattern.

Treatment commonly involves selecting points along the head, neck and shoulders to ease tension and support circulation. Additional points on the hands, feet or legs may be used to help regulate how Qi moves through the body and reduce pressure in the head.

Acupuncture is used to encourage smoother circulation and help settle overactive patterns. In some cases, gentle Tui Na (Chinese Massage) may be applied to reduce tension. Lifestyle guidance may also be discussed to support sleep, stress management and dietary triggers.

The aim is to help the head and neck feel more settled and allow the body to regulate more evenly.
