Cranbrook Residences has officially kicked off the Christmas season with our Annual Resident Christmas Party!

This year we mixed things up and headed to The Fiddler at Rouse Hill.

Residents enjoyed a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a scrumptious two-course lunch complete with all the Christmas trimmings.

Our wonderful Social Group organised some fantastic lucky door prizes, and Dot, our entertainer, managed to get many of us up on the dance floor.

It was a wonderful afternoon and the perfect way to step into the festive season. 🎄✨

This week we had the pleasure of watching one of our talented residents, Kaye, transform our café into a sparkling jewellery boutique💎

Kaye showcased a stunning collection of her handcrafted pieces, accompanied by bubbles and nibblies for everyone to enjoy.

With such beautifully made items — and prices that were hard to resist — many residents treated themselves and even picked up a few early Christmas gifts 🎄🎁

Not even the wild weather could dampen the incredible evening we shared last Friday!

We were lucky to have Tom from Tom’s Family Butchery in Rouse Hill join us, firing up the BBQ and treating our residents to a feast — juicy steak, sizzling sausages, tasty chicken kebabs, crisp fresh salads, and desserts galore. The food was amazing, but the company was even better.

A huge thank you to all the residents who pitched in to help bring the night together. Your teamwork and community spirit made it truly special.

What a fantastic way to kick off the weekend! 🌟🍽️🔥

With traditional shopping becoming a thing of the past, we had the pleasure of welcoming Robin from Rainbow Fashions, who brought along a fabulous variety of clothes and handbags.
Our library came to life, transformed into a catwalk, with Nita setting the scene through gorgeous floral arrangements.
A handful of our residents stepped up to model in our Fashion Parade — a special shout-out to each of them.
Our resident jewellery designer, Kaye, styled the models with her beautiful pieces, perfectly accentuating every outfit. We now can’t wait for Kaye’s jewellery sale on Wednesday 26/11 10am-12.30pm in our Café.
Many residents rounded off an amazing morning with Morning Tea in the Café, enjoying an array of sweet treats while chatting about who bought what.
Who doesn’t love shopping from home!

A wonderful time was had by all at our Melbourne Cup celebrations!
Everyone embraced the spirit of the day, dressing in their finest attire.
🎉 Congratulations to Marie & Paul for taking out Best Dressed Couple and to Sandra for Best Dressed Individual!
The spread of food was absolutely amazing — a perfect mix of sweet and savoury delights.

So much fun was had last Friday night! Derek from JuxtaPosse joined us in the Café for a fantastic evening of live music with a twist of Bingo.
Residents put their music knowledge to the test with “Name That Song” — hear the tune, mark it off on your Bingo card!
It didn’t take anything away from our usual Friday Night Nibbles & Drinks — it only made the night even better. Plenty of quirky prizes were won and there was lots of laughter throughout.
JuxtaPosse, an acoustic soloist, reinterprets well-known songs into engaging unplugged sing-along favourites. The crowd certainly agreed — everyone had their hands in the air for the final song of the evening: ‘Sweet Caroline’!

💗 A big thank you to Zieta and Rhomee from Nurse Next Door Home Care Services who joined us at the Café this week! They spent time chatting with residents about how the Support At Home program works (formerly Home Care Packages). They also discussed how the Commonwealth Home Support program is being phased out after 1 July 2027 and all clients will transition to the Support at Home program. Zieta and Rhomee talked about the wonderful range of services available to help seniors stay happy, healthy, and independent at home.

🏋We also loved welcoming Prasay from HCA Healthcare Australia, who shared valuable insights into the Physiotherapy services offered at our Reflections Wellness Centre. From individual one off services to ongoing packages, prehab and rehab and group sessions for strength, balance and cardio fitness.

It was a fantastic morning filled with great conversations, helpful information, and plenty of smiles! 😊

Wow, what another exciting season!
Cranbrook Residences has survived another thrilling NRL Footy Tipping season.
This year’s competition went right down to the Grand Final, with some last-minute changes shaking up the leaderboard!
Much to the gentlemen’s disappointment, the ladies claimed all the top spots — congratulations to Nyrelle for taking out first place, Margaret and Olga for equal second, and Graeme, Bob, and Dave for tying in third.
A special award was also given to Ross H for backing his tips with such confidence all season long.
You couldn’t have asked for a closer finish!

O’zapft is! 🍻 The beer has been tapped and our residents enjoyed an unforgettable celebration of Bavarian culture for Oktoberfest!

Monika (of German heritage) and Chris looked spectacular in their genuine Bavarian Dirndl and Lederhosen—and they weren’t the only ones showing off incredible costumes on the evening.

The Weihenstephaner Pils was a crowd favourite, perfectly paired with an outstanding custom menu from Tim of Acacia’s Catering:
🥣 Kartoffelsuppe (potato soup)
🍖 Schweinebraten (roast pork shoulder)
🥬 Kohlrouladen (stuffed cabbage rolls)
🥗 Weisskraut (braised cabbage)
🥦 Kaisergemüse (cauliflower and carrots)

And for the sweetest finale—Black Forest Cake and Apple Strudel that were truly to die for!

It was a day full of flavour, fun, and Bavarian flair! 🎶🍺🥨

Today we gathered for R U OK Day - an annual national day of action to encourage people to have meaningful conversations with friends, family and colleagues about mental health and wellbeing.

Through discussions we will remove the stigma around mental health to ensure everyone gets the help they need when they need it!
