O’zapft is! 🍻 The beer has been tapped and our residents enjoyed an unforgettable celebration of Bavarian culture for Oktoberfest!

Monika (of German heritage) and Chris looked spectacular in their genuine Bavarian Dirndl and Lederhosen—and they weren’t the only ones showing off incredible costumes on the evening.

The Weihenstephaner Pils was a crowd favourite, perfectly paired with an outstanding custom menu from Tim of Acacia’s Catering:
🥣 Kartoffelsuppe (potato soup)
🍖 Schweinebraten (roast pork shoulder)
🥬 Kohlrouladen (stuffed cabbage rolls)
🥗 Weisskraut (braised cabbage)
🥦 Kaisergemüse (cauliflower and carrots)

And for the sweetest finale—Black Forest Cake and Apple Strudel that were truly to die for!

It was a day full of flavour, fun, and Bavarian flair! 🎶🍺🥨

Spring has sprung and the gardens are bursting with life!

Our stunning gardens were designed by Jana from UmbaCo Landscape Architects. The gardens create a sense of harmony and well-being, being fringed by the Castle Hill Country Club Golf Course, much of the scenery is borrowed from the surrounding vistas.

Credit is also awarded to Alex, Daniel and the Kyora Landscapes Team who have lovingly tendered to the gardens since inception along with considerable hours from our resident volunteers.

We hope you enjoy the gardens as much as we do!

Today our wonderful Social Group ladies, Ann and Sandra, hosted a special early Father’s Day Morning Tea for the men.

Sandra’s famous sausage rolls were an absolute hit, while Ann’s freshly baked scones with jam and cream disappeared just as quickly! These were just two of the many delicious treats on offer. The Dad jokes were a huge success, the morning was full of laughter and good cheer 💙

Happy early Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures in our community!

🍗 Golden roast chicken with crispy potatoes and rosemary gravy, paired with roasted parsnips, pumpkin, and green beans.

💤 This Saturday 2 August, Catherine our Residential Manager, will be sleeping out at Bella Vista Farm as part of The Hills Winter Sleepout – now in her 5th year participating.

The event raises funds for Hills Community Aid’s Homeless Prevention Initiative – a rental bond scheme that helps individuals and families in crisis stay in safe housing.

Why cook when you can be treated to something special?

Our Café was buzzing with good company and great food yesterday as residents enjoyed another mouth-watering lunch, lovingly prepared by Tim from Acacia Catering.

On the menu: tender roast silverside of beef, buttery new potatoes with thyme and garlic gravy, and perfectly roasted seasonal vegetables.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better… out came Tim’s famous bread and butter pudding – his best one yet!

Thank you, Tim, for another truly delicious afternoon. We’re already counting down to next month’s feast!

Today, our lovely ladies gathered for their regular craft session — and what a creative bunch they are!

Olga is bravely tackling the intricate Debbie Abrahams Mystery Blanket (no small feat!). Nyrelle is knitting a beautiful cot blanket, optimistically preparing for the day she becomes a great-grandma — no pressure, grandkids!

Jan, as always, brightened the room in one of her fabulous and colourful WoolOvers jumpers, while Mary popped in to reconnect with knitting — needles coming out next week!
