๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Medicare Funding Expanded for Speech Therapy (From 1 March 2026)

Medicare has expanded funding, making speech therapy more accessible for children and young people under 25 who stutter or have unclear speech. This means more families can access assessment and therapy with Medicare rebates.

Whatโ€™s included:
โœจ Up to 8 Medicare-rebated assessment sessions (lifetime)
โœจ Up to 20 Medicare-rebated therapy sessions (lifetime)
โœจ GP referral pathways
โœจ Reduced out-of-pocket costs

You may consider speech therapy if your child:
โ€ข Is difficult to understand for their age
โ€ข Is flagged by a teacher, GP, or educator
โ€ข Becomes frustrated or withdrawn when communicating

Other funding options such as NDIS, Chronic Condition Management, and private health rebates may also apply.
