As some of you know, our Art Therapist Deb has been doing her Masters in Child Play Therapy.
Three children aged 2-5 years old are invited to participate in a 10-week therapeutic play experience with Deb, Deakin Masters of Child Play Therapy
student. The experience draws heavily on the principles and processes of Karen Stagnittiโs Learn to Play Therapy, focusing on enhancing pretend play skills.
Children will partake in one-hour weekly sessions at Perth Hills Allied Health in Kelmscott on Mondays, between 9am - 2pm.
Play therapy students are not able to accept referrals of children with complex backgrounds due to the short timeframe of the placement not meeting the needs of the child.
A parent is required to attend an initial intake meeting, mid-point review and end of term meeting to keep you updated on progress..
The parent meetings and children's sessions are required to be recorded, these are viewed by the student and the supervisor for marking purposes.
'Consent to conduct and record therapy sessions' form will be supplied with further information.
More information about this approach can be found at https://www.learntoplayevents.com/
Please register your interest by emailing the clinic, ๐ฎ๐ and Deb will arrange a short screening call to ensure the experience is right for your child.
