There was plenty of joy (and delicious smells!) in the air at Fair Haven Aged Care as Trish and Gwen put on their chef hats and cooked up fresh, made‑from‑scratch pancakes for the residents. As the pans sizzled, residents reminisced about traditions, beliefs and favourite recipes from years gone by, making the morning feel extra special.

Pancakes were served with golden syrup, ice cream and a few tasty alternatives, which, judging by the smiles, it is safe to say were a hit!

It was a wonderful way to bring people together through food, memories and connection. 🥞✨

This ANZAC Day, we honour those who have served. General-Chaplain Allen Brooke (1899 - 1968), like so many other Christians in wartime, faced the times confident in his Lord.

Brooke enlisted in the AIF just shy of his 17th birthday. He served with the AIF in France as a signaller in WW1 and then served as a chaplain in WW2.

In 1939 he became the minister of Ann Street Church of Christ in Brisbane. In 1942 he was appointed Chaplain-General and returned to Melbourne to take up that position.

In the 1944 edition of The Christian Echo, Brooke quoted Edwin Markham's poem "The Place of Peace". We hope you also find comfort in these words.

We bring the show to you! 🎡🍿🍭

There was plenty of colour, fun and nostalgia at Warwick Aged Care as the Sideshow Alley was brought to residents who couldn’t make it to the local show.

With classic favourites like fairy floss, dagwood dogs, mini hotdogs, popcorn, and cake, plus games including co****le, knock‑em‑downs, face painting, football and the chocolate wheel, the morning was filled with laughter and friendly competition.

Thank you to Priceline Pharmacy Warwick for generously donating prize bags, which residents loved.

Overall, it was a wonderful morning of food, games and connection enjoyed by residents and staff alike! 💛

Fair Haven Aged Care had an exciting visit from Resta Reptiles, bringing plenty of curiosity and laughter to the morning.

Dave travelled in with an incredible range of reptiles which included including monitors, dragons, skinks, turtles, pythons and even a juvenile crocodile.

Residents were captivated as Dave shared where each animal lives, what they eat and how old they are, sparking lots of questions and conversations.

Many residents were brave enough to hold or gently interact with the reptiles, making the experience even more memorable. It was educational, engaging and a wonderful change of pace, proof that even if reptiles aren’t your favourite, their charm just might win you over by the end of the morning! 🦎✨

Easter reflections🐰
Our residents at Fairhaven Aged Care had a sugary fun-filled afternoon, filled with cupcake and cookie decorating to celebrate Easter. 🧁

Residents were each given the choice to decorate cup cakes or cookies, select food colouring for their icing and add sprinkles as final touch. They were encouraged to get into the Easter spirit and decorate them as Easter Rabbits, and no two looked the same!

It was great to see everyone laughing, chatting and reminiscing about how they may have done these activities with their mothers, children and grand children. 🐇🙌

Fairhaven Maryborough Aged Care residents enjoyed a lovely trip recently, travelling to the Hervey Bay Boat Club for a relaxing morning tea.

The scenic 30‑minute drive was filled with chatter and plenty of laughter. Once there, residents chose a table overlooking the marina and enjoyed a selection of sweet treats and drinks. The group took in the beautiful views of the whale‑watching boats and paused for a group photo by the water.

Outings like these are hosted by our Lifestyle Teams who work to provide everyone a chance to explore, socialise, and enjoy a change of scenery.

Don, a Home Care client, recently enjoyed a wonderful day out! ☀️

The day started the day at the Regatta in Brisbane hopping on the ferry to South Bank. Don loved feeling the breeze on his face and reminiscing about the days when the ferries were made of wood.

Over lunch at the Riverside Café and Bar, Don enjoyed his regular calamari and chips and his plate even came with a giant chip - check it out! After a stroll through South Bank and stories of riding the Ferris wheel in London, they ferried back home.

Special moments like these are what our Home Care team loves. Supporting our clients' independence whilst making space for joy, connection and cherished memories. 💛🙌

Rockingham Aged Care recently celebrated a special moment in their community as resident John took a meaningful step of faith by being baptised. Surrounded by friends, fellow residents, and former pastors, John’s baptism was a beautiful reminder of God’s gentle timing and enduring love.

The service was peaceful and uplifting, marking the fulfilment of a long‑held hope for John. Afterwards, the community gathered for morning tea, sharing congratulations, fellowship, and heartfelt conversations.

This included soothing foot spas and warm towels, dog therapy, and calming music and the day was all about relaxation, joy, and meaningful connection.

Fairhaven Maryborough residents recently enjoyed a vibrant celebration of Irish culture this St Patrick’s Day! The lifestyle team transformed the room with photos of Ireland, clover decorations, and handmade crafts. Residents were welcomed with shamrock necklaces, fun leprechaun hats, and a delicious Shamrock Shake alongside colourful Irish‑themed cakes.

Stories flowed as residents who had visited Ireland reminisced about their travels, which included the famous Blarney Stone! The morning continued with Irish trivia, jokes, and a lively pot‑of‑gold coin toss. To finish the festivities, everyone enjoyed Irish dancing and a cheerful sing‑along to “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling.”

A wonderful day celebrating culture and connection! ☘️💚
