🍲💛 Delicious winter warmer at Fassifern Aged Care 💛🍲

Who doesn’t love pumpkin soup - especially when the pumpkin is homegrown on site and the croutons are freshly made!

Resident George helped chop onions and serve up bowls of fresh, homemade pumpkin soup, bringing connection and care to every spoonful.

Residents are always excited for "Cooking with Trish", a monthly activity where Lifestyle team member Trish cooks one of her famous soups.

Simple, tasty, and shared with good company.

🦙💗 A surprise visit from Heph! 💗🦙

Recently, our residents at Fassifern Aged Care were thrilled to welcome a special visit from Robert Fletcher and his gentle alpaca, Hephner the Alpaca, who are on a journey to promote mental health and wellbeing.

Residents delighted in patting Hephner’s soft fleece, laughing at his curious nature, and shared fond memories of animals from their past. Special activities like these ensure our residents feel moments of joy, connection, and warmth every day.

Fun fact: Hephner once met King Charles… and sneezed on him! 😄

🚌🌳 Out and about at Wook-Koo Park 🌳🚌
Our residents recently enjoyed a beautiful day out at Wook-Koo Park, complete with a sausage sizzle thanks to Adrian, tea, coffee, and sweet treats.

From scenic walks with Leanne and Harriet, to Anne’s joyful moment patting a furry friend, the day was filled with connection, nature, and smiles.

The highlight? The stunning Wook-Koo Story Walk - an inspiring trail of sculptures, mosaics, and stories that celebrate local culture and creativity.

As part of Stanthorpe’s beloved Snowflakes Festival, our residents and families came together for a magical afternoon of connection, music, and joy at our Winter Ball.

Thanks to generous local donations, including the incredible Cruella De Ville singers, and the dedication of our staff, the event was filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments.

🎉Celebrating Aged Care Employees at Churches of Christ

Last week, we celebrated our amazing staff who work tirelessly to care for the almost 2000 residents in our aged care homes. From nurses and carers, to gardeners, chefs, drivers, and hairdressers, every role makes a difference.

Here are some of the ways we marked the day across Victoria and Queensland:

- Homesteads in Nerang had a morning tea and raffle
- Golden Age in Southport had a morning tea with a coffee cart and special cake
- New gardener Brad cooked a BBQ for staff at Bribie Island in Bongaree
- Moonah Park in Mitchelton provided a delicious spread for workers
- The Rapid Relief Team AU were onsite at Gracehaven in Bundaberg to serve delicious burgers to the team
- Stanthorpe hosted trivia, competitions, morning tea, and created a thank you wall

Whether it's facilitating independence, celebrating joy, or ensuring everyone is included, our compassionate staff always bring a smile and a helping hand to our residents to make sure the aged care experience warm and welcoming.

🎄✨ Christmas in July at Warrawee Aged Care ✨🎄

Santa made a surprise visit, bringing smiles and festive cheer to our residents! We sang carols, played pass the parcel, and enjoyed a delicious morning tea featuring homemade chocolate crackles, honey joys, and rum balls lovingly prepared the day before by our residents.

It was a heartwarming celebration filled with laughter, music, and community spirit. 💚
