πŸ“£ Hello, fellow members of PsychiSoc!

On behalf of the World Psychiatry Association, PsychiSoc would like to present this year's Annual WPA Medical Student Essay Competition!

On Monday, the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) launched its 4th Annual Medical Student Essay Competition, their flagship activity for Medical Students and a WPA Presidential initiative with the support of the United Nations Secretariat – Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Division for Sustainable Development Goals and our WPA Medical Students Special Interest Group.

πŸ’¬ Medical students worldwide are invited to submit an essay [of 3000 words or less] by April 30 on this year's theme of "Reducing Inequalities and Promoting Inclusion to Improve Mental Health."

The WPA hopes this challenge will inspire medical students to explore innovative approaches and solutions that align with the United Nations 10th Sustainable Development Goal of Reducing Inequalities.

🌐 The competition webpage and the announcement can be found on the WPA website at the links below if you'd like more details:

Moreover, the winners will be acknowledged at the 25th World Congress of Psychiatry (WCP 2025) in Prague later this year. To facilitate their participation in the congress, the winners' registration fees will be waived and a Travel Award of up to €1500 EUR will be granted to cover travel and accommodation expenses!
