Have you ever dieted before and restricted yourself of gorgeous foods that you enjoy only that kept you in the โ€˜diet binge dietโ€™ cycle?

Yup, me too. And I always used to say it doesnโ€™t matter I will start Monday and just diet even harder that following week just so I could make up lost ground. Does that sound familiar?

Often when we put ourselves through intense phases of dieting restriction it can cause us to become angry. Angry at ourselves, angry at the world. Well thatโ€™s what happened to me ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

But it wasnโ€™t until I did the work on my mindset, educated myself on macros breakdown and splits that I discovered that I DONโ€™T NEED TO RESTRICT TASTY FOODS for long periods of time to lose weight. SAY WHA??

I was miserable and deprived

Have you ever thought that looking a certain way would would make you happy?

I was deprived of foods I love, deprived of sleep, deprived of loving myself, deprived of time, deprived of self worth, deprived of connection

I was consumed by guilt. Guilt if I missed a training session, had takeaway, ate chocolate. Consumed by anger, consumed by FEAR and consumed of what society thought of me

I had to go through a process

A process of choosing LOVE over FEAR

I love the photo you see. Yes, it was a photoshoot prep, yes I dieted but after the years of mindset work and focusing on the things that were important it made the entire photoshoot prep process come from a place of love and enjoyment. Showing up consistently in your workouts can be one of the hardest things to master for many women who want to lose weight.....

That used to me, I would go through bursts of training and bursts of sitting on my arse making excuses about not training but now over the last 3 years it is the most consistent I have ever been
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
So whatโ€™s been the difference? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

I got clear on whatโ€™s most important and let go of the s**t that wasnโ€™t. I let go of the fact that having a butt like JLo or abs like hattie boydle actually didnโ€™t even matter to me. What mattered most is that I am showing up as the best version of myself and moving my body and setting goals that actually matter to me.

So this is my little checklist that I check in with every now and again to make sure I am staying aligned to what really matters โ€ฆ

I didnโ€™t know how to feel, I didnโ€™t even know I was intentionally suppressing my emotions.

It wasnโ€™t until I embarked on this healing journey with food that I came to realise I was using food as a drug and forcing it to suppress my emotions because I thought feeling sad, angry and upset was wrong.

I forced myself to hide it.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
I thought admitting or feeling stressed meant that I am not handling stress well and I would appear weak and incompetent so I turned to food
