📣UNSW DermSoc is proud to support World Skin Health Day 2025!🌍
This year’s theme, “No Health Without Skin Health,” highlights the global effort to ensure that everyone, everywhere, can benefit from greater awareness, education, and equal access to dermatological care👩⚕️🧑🏽⚕️
Did you know that over 3 billion people worldwide lack proper access to dermatological care? 😟�In 2019 alone, there were 4.86 billion new cases of skin and subcutaneous diseases, with fungal and bacterial infections being the most common 🦠.
Some individuals even travel up to 8 hours just to reach a skin clinic, while others wait up to 2 years for a dermatology appointment 🕒.
Skin diseases are the third most prevalent cause of illness globally and one of the top 10 causes of disability. The burden goes far beyond the physical - impacting mental health, social inclusion, and quality of life 💬💔
Let’s work together to raise awareness and advocate for accessible, affordable, and inclusive dermatological care for all 💪🏽
