How can we improve barriers to early intervention in cardiac arrest? That's what Corvanta's first guest is here to help us unpack.

Ambulance Insights Podcast Episode 1: LIVE NOW
http://corvanta.com/ambulanceinsights

Tony Walker has nearly four decades of experience in ambulance and emergency services, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Ambulance Victoria.

Right now, the rates of survival to discharge are 50 % lower in rural versus metro areas.

Tony is amazed that Victoria is the only state where Fire services formally and automatically respond to cardiac arrest.

We cover:
- How can we improve equity in cardiac arrest care in rural and urban areas?
- Is it true Tony carries around an AED in his car boot?
- How could a co-response model work?
- Is partnering and collaborating the future of ambulance services?
- What does a cardiac arrest survivor believe is needed to bridge the gap?

Today is World AIDS Day, an international day of awareness, remembrance, and action that was established in 1988.

An estimated 30,890 Australians and 40.8 million people worldwide are living with HIV.

For healthcare and emergency service leaders, this day is a powerful reminder of our role in delivering inclusive care, education, and advocacy — ensuring compassion and equity remain at the heart of our sector.

Did you know that one in five Australians experience mental health challenges, yet many don’t seek help due to stigma?

For those on the frontlines, like our ambulance workers, there’s often a pressure to stay strong for others, which can lead to neglecting their own wellbeing. As we head into one of the busiest times of the year, it's important to check in on those around us, including those working in the health sector who often face heightened stress during this season.

Take a moment today to reach out to ask how someone’s really doing. A simple conversation can make a world of difference and remember, there’s strength in asking for help.

It's not a new conversation, but an important one. How can we improve equity between rural and metropolitan emergency medical services?

With guests that include St John WA, Ambulance Victoria, London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Hato Hone St John, the CAA & Corvanta have partnered to launch a new podcast for the industry, Ambulance Insights, or as we like to call it 'AI Chats'.

The podcast consists of a short series, focused on targeted conversations that spotlight key challenges, innovations, and opportunities. The first series is 'The Great Divide', where hosts Lindsay Mackay ASM and Han-Wei Lee ASM chat to leaders in the field focusing on different challenges. Whether that's on CRP awareness, training and resources, or technology where we can improve equity in care both here in ANZ and globally.
