🎌 Tokyo, DONE! 🎌
A huge congratulations to our incredible client Wan on completing the Tokyo Marathon this past weekend, her 2nd of the 7 World Major Marathons! 🏅

Wan's journey hasn't always been smooth. She has faced real pain, long stretches of self-doubt, and moments where giving up would have been the easier path. But she never stopped believing in herself or her body's ability to endure, adapt, and rise to the challenge.

And rise she did. 🙌

Two down. Five to go. The world's greatest finish lines are waiting and we have absolutely no doubt she'll cross every single one of them.

Yesterday, we said a heartfelt farewell to the wonderful Antonella, who has retired after her incredible time with us here at The Footcare Clinic. Antonella has been an absolute legend and will be truly missed by our team and patients alike, we wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter! 🌟

But in equally exciting news… Kate is back! 🎉 And with her return, we now have not one, but TWO Kates on the team. Double the talent, double the warmth, and maybe just a little double the trouble. 😄

If you've called us over the years, you know this greeting by heart. And honestly? We're going to miss hearing it just as much as you will.
But what you don't see is everything else Antonella does:
✨ Trained over 15 different staff members to work the desk
✨ Guided more than 10 podiatrists through our admin procedures
✨ Helped streamline daily operations to make "their life easier" (her words!)
✨ Sterilised hundreds of thousands of instrument packs to keep us compliant with Australian infection control standards
And that's just scratching the surface.
Twenty years of being the voice, the trainer, the problem-solver, and the person who quietly makes sure everything runs exactly as it should.
That's Antonella. 💙

Choosing a podiatrist? Don't just pick the first Google result.

✅ 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 – Seeing someone for a running injury but they don't run themselves? Find a podiatrist whose experience aligns with your issue. It makes a real difference.

✅ 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – AHPRA registration is mandatory (you can verify online). Australian Podiatry Association membership shows commitment to professional standards.

✅ 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 – This isn't awkward to ask about. Any professional clinic will happily explain their sterilisation procedures and documentation. If they seem defensive, that's a red flag.

✅ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 – Ask what continuing education they pursue. Podiatry has evolved significantly - you want someone who knows current best practices, not just what they learned 20 years ago.

When Antonella hit the big 6-0 a few years back, we decided to give her the ultimate birthday surprise... a visit from her favourite footy player, Hawks captain Luke Breust. Spoiler alert: watching a grown woman turn into a giggling schoolgirl has never been more entertaining! Prepare yourself for 60 years of composure completely evaporating in about 5 seconds! 😆😜

𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸: 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵

One of the first charities we supported was Shoes for Planet Earth - an initiative that collects pre-loved shoes and gives them to people in need instead of letting them end up in landfill.
Antonella would sit at the front desk answering calls while also collecting bags of old shoes people dropped off. The response was incredible... maybe too incredible!
Eventually we ran out of room to store them all and had to stop the collection. A victim of our own success!
