Dear Yoga Family,
I am writing to share the incredible legacy left by my mother, Swami Sarasvati, who passed away on Monday. While we mourn her loss, we are also filled with an immense gratitude for all that she achieved during her time with us.

A beloved Yogi, and one of the first to bring Yoga to Australia, she inspired and guided so many of us, and she will continue to live on through her students, her teachings, and the many lives she touched.

The positive seeds that my mother planted through her teachings have grown into a beautiful forest of strong and resilient Yoga trees, each one bearing the fruits of a healthy, balanced, and joyful life and are spreading their seeds too.

My mother had a unique talent for making Yoga simple and accessible to all. ‘So long as you can breathe, you can do Yoga.' Further, her philosophy is that Yoga is not about the poses, but rather it is a way of life. Her teachings helped the lives of countless individuals, and we are forever grateful for the way she brought the transformative practice of Yoga into our lives.

While we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will always be with us.

Please join us in farewelling Swami at Castlebrook Memorial Park, Rouse Hill at 10am on Saturday 1 April for the Hindu ceremony.

As we reflect on her life and the impact she made, we ask that you join us in celebrating her legacy by practicing Yoga in her honour. We encourage you to share stories and memories of her teachings, and to continue spreading the joy and benefits of Yoga to others.

We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have already received. Thank you!

Namaste
Sanjay

Hi all
We have been maintaining physical distance and promoting social connection by running classes on messenger chat groups
It’s not perfect but people are enjoy both being connected and doing yoga

I will do a class Wednesday Night 6pm
And Thursday morning 7am

If anyone would like to join either class let me know and I will add you to that group. We have learnt there are number limits to each call so.....

I will set up a timetable for next week and people might like to tell me which classes they would like to attend

At the moment thinking
Monday 7am
Tuesday 6pm
Wednesday 6pm
Thursday 7am
Anyone can join any one...
And if there is a demand I could set up more

Let me know if you would like to join in

23/03/2020

Well we are doing another yoga session in Messenger group chat tomorrow Tuesday 7am (EST). We managed to stretch, breath, acknowledge and practice asana together but apart. We were able to be in our social space while maintaining physical distance, and do some yoga. Let me know if you would like to join us.

Because of our small space and close proximity to each other at our precious Purple Curtain, I am closing the class til we know that the risk has minimized further

Ideas
Practice a little at home
Wash your hands more than you think you need to
Sandra’s classes are held in a much bigger room and are on this week. Bring your own mat and don’t come if you are unwell

Once things settle, things will settle

Hi everyone!
Headed home this weekend
Let’s have a 7am practice on Thursday morning 19 March, to get things moving again. If you have a cold maybe just continue your own practice until your symptoms pass. As you know our room is quite small and can get crowded so I will minimize risk as much as possible. I have been attending classes here in Perth, around consultations and procedures. Our yoga is the same everywhere with tiny differences to extend ourselves even more.
See you Thursday
Back to normal the following week if all goes well.
