Welcome to Podiatry Week!! 🦶
It’s time to shine a spotlight on what podiatrists really do— our days are so varied in the types of patients that we see. Yes sometimes we do ‘just cut toenails’ but that’s really a very very small description of what a podiatrist actually does.
Podiatrists are trained to detect, diagnose, and treat conditions affecting the entire lower limb. From ankle sprains to complex foot deformities and diabetic foot checks, we’ve got you covered. In fact, we can often spot potential systemic conditions just by examining the health of your feet.
We also assess how you walk, run, and move. This analysis helps us create personalized treatment plans that may include exercises, stretches, soft tissue therapies like shockwave treatment and dry needling, and yes—those “thingys” you’ve heard about, also known as custom orthotics. These can help you move more efficiently and get you back to pain-free living!
Got an ingrown toenail that just won’t quit? We can perform nail surgeries to fix those stubborn issues, which just happens to be a personal favorite of mine! And yes we are the experts when it comes to treating warts, corns, calluses, and fungus—those little nuisances that no one wants to deal with, but someone has to!
What we’ve shared here is just a snippet of what podiatrists do. Behind every happy step, there’s a podiatrist ensuring those feet are ready to take on the world—one shoe at a time!
