💥 Now offering mini medical pedicures 💥

A medical pedicure is a specialised foot treatment for both men and women. It is performed by our podiatrists to address common foot concerns while prioritising hygiene and foot health. Unlike a standard pedicure, a medical pedicure focuses on both aesthetics and medical-grade care, making it ideal for individuals with minimal problem areas like calluses, ingrown toenails, fungal infections, cracked heels, or diabetes-related foot issues.

Our service is performed in a sterile environment using high-quality, professional tools to ensure a safe and effective treatment. Whether you’re looking to maintain healthy feet, address specific concerns, or simply enjoy a therapeutic experience, a medical pedicure is the perfect way to give your feet the care they deserve.

Welcome to Podiatry Week!! 🦶

It’s time to shine a spotlight on what podiatrists really do— our days are so varied in the types of patients that we see. Yes sometimes we do ‘just cut toenails’ but that’s really a very very small description of what a podiatrist actually does.

Podiatrists are trained to detect, diagnose, and treat conditions affecting the entire lower limb. From ankle sprains to complex foot deformities and diabetic foot checks, we’ve got you covered. In fact, we can often spot potential systemic conditions just by examining the health of your feet.

We also assess how you walk, run, and move. This analysis helps us create personalized treatment plans that may include exercises, stretches, soft tissue therapies like shockwave treatment and dry needling, and yes—those “thingys” you’ve heard about, also known as custom orthotics. These can help you move more efficiently and get you back to pain-free living!

Got an ingrown toenail that just won’t quit? We can perform nail surgeries to fix those stubborn issues, which just happens to be a personal favorite of mine! And yes we are the experts when it comes to treating warts, corns, calluses, and fungus—those little nuisances that no one wants to deal with, but someone has to!

What we’ve shared here is just a snippet of what podiatrists do. Behind every happy step, there’s a podiatrist ensuring those feet are ready to take on the world—one shoe at a time!

👣Diabetic Assessment - Toe Brachial Index👣

In podiatry it is our job to assess the risks, test for issues and to try to prevent any complications from arising when it comes to our diabetic patients.

Regular 12 monthly diabetic foot checks are a Necessity when it comes to preventing life threatening complications of diabetes. It is also recommended that you see your podiatrist regularly for general foot care maintenance as well.

Complications that can occur in relations to diabetes is the reduction in blood flow to the feet due to damaged blood vessels, this in turn can lead to a reduction in protective sensation. Wounds and ulcer’s are the byproduct of this complication, when left untreated this can lead to infection, excessive tissues damage and may result in amputation.

1. TBI (Toe Brachial index)

At Killarney vale podiatry we do extensive diabetic foot checks using the latest in blood flow study technology. TBI (Toe brachial index) these tests are non invasive and allow us to determine how at risk you are of complications due to reduction in blood flow. The results are then sent back to your doctor with appropriate treatment measures taken when necessary.
