We’re excited to let families know that swimming lessons are kicking off in February — with sessions available from Wednesday 4 February and Friday 6 February!

K-Life is looking for a friendly new volunteer to help deliver Meals on Wheels on the first two Tuesdays of each month.

⏰ It usually takes no more than 90 minutes and makes a huge difference to locals in our community—bringing both a delicious meal and a friendly smile.

If you’re reliable, enjoy a chat, and would love to give back in a practical way, we’d love to hear from you!

What a day, Killarney 🇦🇺

Our Australia Day celebrations were an absolute win, with more than 350 people coming together to celebrate community, connection and the people who make this town special.

We were proud to present the Australia Day Awards and recognise some seriously deserving locals:
Citizen of the Year – Anthony Mills
Junior Citizen of the Year – Ella Winfield
Junior Sports Award – Tony Osbourne
Sport Administrator of the Year – Susan Blissner
Community Event of the Year – Killarney and District Heritage Centre for the Vintage Clothing Fashion Parade, accepted by Lesley Palmer and Jeanette Braithwaite

A huge thanks to Marco Gliori for keeping us entertained as MC, and to Councillor Russell Wantling and Ross Bartley for joining us on the day and supporting our community.

The Killarney Community Pool being open with free entry was a hit, with families taking full advantage of the chance to cool down and enjoy the sunshine together.

Days like this remind us why Killarney is such a great place to live. Strong turnout, great vibes and plenty of local pride on show. Thanks to everyone who came along and helped make Australia Day 2026 one to remember.

We’re getting excited for our Australia Day Community Celebration tomorrow, Monday 26 January, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone along for a great morning.

🕗 Time: 8:00am–12:00pm
📍 Location: Pat Bush Park

Here’s what’s coming up on the day:

All morning:
• Free kids’ games and face painting
• Ice cream van
• K-Life Health Station with hydration tips, water, sunscreen, and fruit cups
• Girls’ Brigade selling doughnuts and coffee
• Killarney Community Pool free entry (open 9:00am–1:00pm)
• Lions Club providing breakfast and lunch

8:30–9:00am – Welcome with Marco Gliori

We’re excited to welcome Marco Gliori as our MC for Australia Day in Killarney

Award-winning Australian poet and storyteller Marco Gliori will kick off our Australia Day celebrations at 8.30am, bringing plenty of laughs and some truly hilarious original Aussie poetry and yarns. Marco has a wonderful way of capturing the characters, landscapes, and spirit of this country, and we know he’ll set the tone for a great morning.

Marco will also MC our Australia Day Awards Ceremony, helping us celebrate this land, our people, and the stories that shape our shared Pride of Place. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and enjoy what makes our community special, with a bit of humour along the way.

We’re really looking forward to starting Australia Day with Marco and sharing the celebration together.

The K-Life Auxiliary is a dedicated group of volunteers who meet monthly to support our residents through fundraising, friendship, and hands-on help that makes life better for the people in our care. From raising funds for essential equipment to providing practical support and building community spirit, this group plays an invaluable role in what we do at K-Life. We’re always welcoming new members with open arms, so if you have a heart for service and connection, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re thrilled to welcome Nine Year Sister to our Australia Day celebrations 🎶

Taking the stage from 9:00–10:00am, Nine Year Sister are a multi-award-winning pop/folk duo from the Granite Belt, made up of sisters Jennie and Emma Wardle, with their sister Lauren Wardle now joining them on drums. Their music is all original, blending beautifully written melodies with angelic harmonies and that unmistakable magic only sibling voices can bring.

Their albums Nine Year Sister, A World Is Waiting, and Gold showcase music that is warm, honest, and deeply Australian, making them the perfect fit for our Australia Day event in Killarney.

Australia Day is just around the corner

We’re excited to invite our residents, families, and community to our Australia Day Community Celebration in conjunction with the Killarney Lions Club.

🗓 Date: Australia Day, Monday 26 January 2026
⏰ Time: 8:00am – 12:00pm
📍 Location: Pat Bush Park

The morning will include live entertainment, family-friendly activities, kids’ games, face painting, food and coffee vendors, and our Australia Day Awards. It’s all about coming together, enjoying the atmosphere, and celebrating community.

We’re thrilled to announce Marco Gliori as our MC and are really looking forward to hearing his wonderful bush poetry, which always brings a touch of humour and classic Aussie storytelling.

We can’t wait to celebrate Australia Day together.
