✨❄️ It’s that time of year again ❄️✨ Along with the magic of winter, we know that colds and sniffles tend to make their rounds too.
This winter, let’s keep our little ones safe and our community even safer by being mindful of the season’s sniffles. If your child isn’t feeling their best, please keep them cozy at home for their session or ask about switching to tele-therapy.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, supportive space this winter!

Want to Boost Your Child’s Language? 🗣️
It’s Easier Than You Think!
You don’t need fancy toys or apps. Just daily chatter during normal routines builds your child’s vocabulary, attention, and connection.
Try this: Instead of quizzing (“What’s that?”), just talk about what’s happening: “You have sticky fingers from the banana!” “The truck is going SO fast!”
These tiny moments = BIG learning. Consistency > Perfection 💕

Why Consistency Matters in Apraxia Therapy
If your child has Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), you’ve likely heard it before, consistency is key. But why does it matter so much?

1. Builds Motor Pathways
Apraxia is all about motor planning, helping the brain learn to send the right messages to the mouth. Like learning to dance or play piano, speech needs repetition to stick.

2. Reduces Frustration
Consistent practice makes speech more predictable and easier to produce. This helps boost confidence and reduce the frustration that comes with communication breakdowns.

3. Supports Generalisation
When kids practice target words across settings (therapy, home, play), they’re more likely to use them spontaneously, not just in “speech time.”

4. Builds Momentum & Trust
Predictable routines help children feel safe and motivated. Consistent sessions + daily practice = steady progress and stronger connections.

Here’s how you can support that at home:
✅ 5–10 minutes of fun, focused speech practice each day
✅ Use speech during play - repeat target words while doing favourite things
✅ Ask your therapist for 2–3 practice words each week
✅ Celebrate every effort, progress is more than perfection

You don’t need hours- just small, intentional moments. Even in the car or the bath, those tiny speech steps add up. We’re here to walk this journey with you ❤️

Ever wonder what speech therapy for apraxia looks like? It’s more than just talking, it’s about teaching the brain how to coordinate speech movements.
Therapy is playful, engaging, and tailored to your child. Progress may be slow, but every word is a milestone worth celebrating.

There are many misunderstandings about Childhood Apraxia of Speech - let’s help clear them up with compassion. 💙
Apraxia isn’t something children grow out of. With the right support, consistent speech therapy, and lots of love and patience, progress is possible.
Every child’s journey is unique, and they thrive with encouragement from a caring, informed community.

🗣️ May is Apraxia Awareness Month 💙
What is Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)?
It’s a rare neurological speech disorder where kids know what they want to say, but their brains struggle to coordinate the muscle movements needed to say it. Imagine having the words in your head but your mouth won’t cooperate- that’s CAS.
These kids are brave.
It can take hundreds of hours of speech therapy, repetition, and patience, but they keep going. Every word is a victory.
Why it matters:
CAS affects 1-2 in 1,000 children. Early diagnosis and specialised speech therapy are key to helping children find their voice.
Raise your voice for those finding theirs.

Before we communicate, we connect.

Words only land when hearts feel safe.
Before asking someone to listen, reflect, or change, we need:
✔️ Connection: Presence. A calm tone.
✔️ Engagement: Genuine interest. Active listening.
✔️ Safety: An environment free from judgment, fear, or pressure.
🌱 Whether it’s with a child, a partner, a student, or a friend.
Emotional safety is the bridge that carries our words.
💡 Remember:
👉 Connection opens the door.
👉 Engagement invites them in.
👉 Safety keeps them listening.
