Two reasons for sharing this post.
1) Yes, it’s true that Reiki can do all that Dr Lucy describes and can really help with fear of all sorts.
2) It’s still a super special thing when a vet chooses to embrace Reiki and work with it. That does not make them less of a great vet, totally not, but just so much more. Dr Lucy is a Tanran Reiki Master who trained with us. She is extraordinary! So if your horse, pet or you need a Reiki healing (and a great vet), check her out.

If your horse gets anxious or reactive around needles, you're not alone!
It's amazing, as a vet, how many horses I've worked with that are needle-shy.
Over the past couple of years, I've realised there is a gentle, effective way to help them feel more at ease: Reiki.
Reiki is a non-invasive energy healing technique that promotes deep relaxation and emotional release, without the need for touch (unless the horse welcomes it). It's especially powerful when used in partnership with acupuncture or other treatments.
Here’s how Reiki can help a needle-shy horse:

✅ Builds trust with practitioners over time
✅ Desensitises gradually, helping the horse feel safe
✅ Releases emotional trauma from past negative experiences

Please welcome our seven new 2025 Reiki Master Graduates! ❤
They gave their all in the 2 week long pre-study and preparation period, to then show up wholeheartedly for the Reiki Master Training with Horses over 5 1/2 days. The days started at 7am and sometimes didn't finish till 10:30pm. When we say they gave their all, they did!!
This group was extraordinary in many ways, and we felt humbled and blessed witnessing and being with them in their unfoldment to Reiki Master. As teachers we were their students just as much.

Meet Elaine Galbraith in NSW (Sydney)!
"Guiding healing hearts and open minds through the power of Reiki" is her mission statement for her Equine Reiki trainings.
In her own words:
"I love learning and am a lifelong student of the horse.
I have coaching qualifications with both Equestrian Australia and the British Horse Society. I am a certified equine sports massage therapist. I enjoy sharing my passion with a variety of clients, empowering them to achieve their goals."
She has done not only all the Levels to Master with us but also learnt Level I/II in the Jikiden Reiki lineage.
