Galston Leisure Centre Construction Update – May 2026

Progress on the new Galston Leisure Centre continues at an impressive pace. Although the weather has begun to turn, the Construction Team remains focused and energetic as they move into the next phase of development. This stage includes roof framing, internal wall installation, and establishing key utilities connection points — all significant steps toward delivering this major community asset.

Entrance and Community Spaces
The grand foyer, auditorium, and lounge areas are now clearly defined, giving visitors a genuine sense of the building’s scale and future atmosphere. Walking through the entrance already provides a strong impression of the vibrant community hub this facility will become.

Ground Floor Development
The Pool Area is taking shape, with terrace doors now installed and framing the space beautifully. Adjacent to the pool, the gym and sauna zones are emerging as distinct, well‑planned areas that will offer residents a premium health and fitness experience.

Wellness Centre
On the top floor, the Wellness Centre is progressing well. Large‑scale windows are being prepared to capture expansive views across the surrounding landscape, creating a calm and restorative environment for future users.

Exclusive Apartments
The four exclusive apartments are currently at the door and window framing stage. Even in this early form, they already signal a unique residential offering within Galston, combining privacy, comfort, and connection to the wider village.

Opening Timeline
The Galston Team remains on track to open the new leisure facility in late 2026.

Walking Track
The new Walking Track is now open, featuring native trees and shrubs, thoughtful landscaping, and a well‑lit pathway. A pergola at the halfway point provides a shaded rest area and a pleasant place to pause and enjoy the surroundings.

Display Homes
Four display homes are now available for viewing, each showcasing a different layout and configuration. All homes feature abundant natural light, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and meticulous attention to detail in fixtures and finishes.

It was a wonderful day celebrating the official opening of our new Country Club at Mount Barker.

Proudly launched by the Mayor of Mount Barker and hosted by Keith Conlon, the event marked the opening of Living Choice’s first land lease seniors’ community and an exciting new chapter focused on wellbeing, connection and enjoying life together.

Designed to encourage an active lifestyle and meaningful social experiences, the Country Club offers residents more opportunities to move, unwind, connect and take part in community life.

New Battery Power Savings for Living Choice Flagstaff Hill Residents.

The residents of Living Choice Flagstaff Hill now benefit from cleaner, more reliable, and cost effective energy solutions following the installation of the new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Delivered in partnership with Living Choice Australia and Active Utilities, the system is fully integrated into the village’s Local Energy Network and creates value for the retirement community.

A special thank you to The Hon Chris Bowen, Minister for Climate Change and Energy, for officiating the ceremony; and thanks to Lisa Dowie (Active Utilities), Lisa Chiba (Momentum Energy), and Blake Williams (YES Group) for their contribution to this project.

The battery forms part of Momentum Energy's Virtual Power Plants made possible through funding received from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) part of ARENA's Advancing Renewable Program.
