Adam helped with training, health appointments, and stayed in touch long after Geoff started work.

That relationship made all the difference.

If you’re facing challenges, you don’t have to go it alone.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY

Who was the first mentor that made a difference in your career journey?

Sometimes, all it takes is one person to believe in you.

On this , we’re revisiting the inspiring story of Paige, a young job seeker who found her path with the support of Christine from APM Employment Services’ Transition to Work team.

Through encouragement, training, and a whole lot of heart, Christine helped Paige build her confidence, gain qualifications, and step into a meaningful role at Club Catalina in Batemans Bay.

The Transition to Work program, part of Workforce Australia, is all about helping young people take those first important steps into employment.

And Paige’s journey is a powerful reminder of how impactful the right support can be.

Do you ever make assumptions about people with vision impairment or other disability?

Many of us do.

In a recent podcast Ayesha from APM Communities shared her experience of living with disability with APM Ambassador and Australian Paralympic legend Ellie Cole.

In their chat they explore some of the misconceptions around disability and the assumptions people make about Ayesha’s abilities.

You can catch a snippet of the conversation in the video below.

Ayesha is one of many APM team members whose lived experience of disability enables them to understand and connect with the people we support.

For APM Employment Services, many team members have a unique experience that people with disability, injury, or health conditions can identify with, and it allows them to provide the right support they need to achieve their goals.

Looking for a fresh start but not sure where to begin?

Sometimes the right support can turn a goal into a career.

When Harrison walked into APM Strathfield, he had a forklift licence and a dream - but no hands-on experience and caring responsibilities that made job hunting tough.

With help from Employment Consultant Sarwat and support through Workforce Australia, Harrison found a role that fit his life and opened new doors.

He started as a storeroom assistant at a local linen service and gained valuable experience.

Six months later he landed his ideal job as a forklift driver at Sydney Airport.

Now thriving and independent, Harrison credits Sarwat’s support for helping him turn quiet determination into real success.

His story is proof that with the right attitude and a little flexibility, great things can happen.

Does your team have a star player?

Broadview Football Club does!

We recently had the honour of presenting the APM Sportsmanship Award to Brad Dunstan.

Brad recently shared a moment that captured the essence of the APM SANFL Inclusive League - he gave up a chance to kick a goal to help a teammate on crutches score their first ever goal.

His selflessness and support for others on and off the field make him a deserving recipient of this award, and his actions embody the spirit of inclusivity, leadership, and integrity.

APM Business Manager Josh Drewett presented the award to Brad during a visit to the club.

A huge thank you to Phil and the team at Broadview Football Club for the warm welcome and for fostering such a supportive environment.

As proud sponsors of the APM SANFL Inclusive League, APM Employment Services is committed to empowering individuals of all abilities to thrive - on the field and in life.
