Family Doctor Service is thrilled to welcome Dr Shadi Emamisadr to the Practice on the 11th of April. She welcomes NEW and exsisting patients to the Practice.

Dr Shadi graduated as a General Practitioner in Iran in 2009 and moved to Australia five years later with her family.

Dr Shadi enjoys living in Tasmania because the weather is similar to her home country and gardening is one of her favorite hobbies.

Some of her special interests include:
-Women’s Health
-Skin cancer and skin health

Dr Shadi is a FRACGP and is currently undertaking her Advanced Certificate in Dermatology and Skin Cancer.

DNA (did not attend) policy update:

Unfortunately due to an increasingly large amount of patients not attending their appointments, we have had to re visit and make some changes to our DNA policy. This is something we didn’t want to have to do, but with patients waiting to be seen and appointments going to waste, it is unfair on those that may urgently require medical attention.

The below will strictly be enforced as of the 1st of April 2025:

- 2 hours notice required for any changes/cancellations to any appointment
-$30 fee for any missed single appointment, unable to rebook until this fee is paid in full.
-$50 fee for any missed double appointment, unable to rebook until this fee is paid in full.

The above applies to all patients and to all appointment types, including Doctor Requested appointments.

Of course we understand that things are sometimes out of your control, so we please ask for kindness as we make this transition and to speak to management directly if you have any questions/concerns in regards to this matter.

Family Doctor Service is looking for a permanent part time Registered Nurse with an ASAP start date. Self-motivated team player with experience in hospital and/or general practice looked upon favorably.
The position is for 3 days per week, initially, but can be expanded if the fit is right!
This role offers variety and autonomy in a hands on practice where the nursing staff take a lead role in managing patients with chronic disease, wound care, minor procedures, ECG's, Spirometry, children’s immunisations, variety of health assessments, and more!
Key Requirements:
• Pleasant and a team player is a must
• Highly developed verbal communication and written skills
• Excellent people skills
• Current drivers licence
• Self-motivated

• AHPRA registration

IMPORTANT PRACTICE UPDATE:
Since 2019 we have been lovingly serving our community by providing everyone with Bulk Billed, quality healthcare. To ensure that we can continue to provide this level of quality care, we have made a decision to re introduce a GAP FEE for non-concession patients from 1ST OF JANUARY 2025

We will continue to Bulk Bill patients under the age of 16 and those that hold a concession card.

We understand that this may negatively impact some of you, so please chat to your Doctor and we will happily assist you.

*Doctors may still Bulk Bill at their own discretion*

The ladies of our Practice are donning themselves in pink and participating in this years, Women's 5km walk/run on the 8th of September. This event supports and encourages health awareness for all Tasmanians, and also raises vital funds for Cancer Council Tasmania’s support and research programs.

We would love your help and support to reach our goal of raising $500 towards this great cause 🌷 We look forward to a fun filled day!

On Friday night we celebrated 10 years of our fabulous Nurse Sabrina 🎉
On behalf of the entire Practice and I’m sure all of our patients, we appreciate all the hard work and love you provide to everyone! We are lucky to have you. (We were having so much fun celebrating we only took one photo)

This is a cause that is close to so many, and we would love to be able to contribute to the great work that Cancer Council continue to do. We have a goal of reaching $500, and would love any help with reaching this goal. Family Doctor Service is thrilled to welcome Dr Imran Aslam to the Practice on the 18th March. He welcomes NEW and exsisting patients to the Practice.

Dr Aslam grew up in Pakistan and later moved to Ukraine to obtain his MD- Doctor of Medicine. In 2011 Dr Aslam and his family moved to Tasmania, where he later completed his postgraduate fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2012.

Dr Aslam has vast experience accross many states and territories in Australia, ranging from, general practice, nursing homes, hospital wards and emergency departments. Because of his many years experience, he can speak 6 different languages fluently!

Some of his special interests include:
-Chronic Disease management
-Skin cancer detection
-Mental Health
-Mens and Family Health
-Travel immunisations and many more.
