π¨ Measles Alert β Tweed Valley Hospital π¨
NSW Health is advising people to be on alert for signs and symptoms of measles.
This comes after confirmation a person travelled from Perth to the Gold Coast via Sydney, while infectious with the virus.
The person presented to Tweed Valley Hospital's Emergency Department on Monday 15 September, from 9.30-11am, after falling ill with the virus.
These locations do not pose an ongoing risk:
π« Flights affected include:
β’ VA572 Perth β Sydney (Fri 12 Sept) and Sydney Domestic Terminal
β’ VA505 Sydney β Gold Coast (Fri 12 Sept) and GC Airport arrivals area
π₯ Location: Tweed Valley Hospital ED (Mon 15 Sept, 9:30β11am)
β οΈ If you were on these flights or at these places, watch for symptoms until 3 Oct:
β’ Fever
β’ Sore eyes
β’ Runny nose and cough
β’ Red blotchy rash
π If symptoms develop, call ahead to your GP or local hospital ED or call healthdirect on 1800 022 222.
