Walk, Ride or Roll with Aunty Angelena Harradine Buckskin and Cedric Varcoe on this healing journey to honour our sea kin affected by the recent algal bloom off the coast of Kangaroo Island.
This bloom has caused devastation to marine life and disrupted the delicate balance of our coastal ecosystems. Together, we will walk in ceremony, community, and care to honour the waters, our sea kin, and the deep relationship between land, sea, and spirit.
We will gather at Brownlow Beach, near the toilet block and the cow sculpture, to begin our journey. Together, we will walk or roll along the coastline to Reeves Point, where we’ll share food (you’re welcome to bring a plate to share), stories, and song. This will be a time to rest and connect in community and with Country, before making our way back to Brownlow Beach together.
Please note if you are unable to walk the whole way or all the way you are welcome to join in which ever part of the day that suits.
The day will be held with cultural guidance and ceremony, creating a space to reconnect with Country and each other. We walk to listen. To heal. To be heard. To stand for the waters and the life they hold.
