Tears almost flowed yesterday as we said goodbye to our dearly beloved optical dispenser, Katie, who has accepted a position closer to home. She has provided an exceptional level of service day in-day out for the past 4.5 years - and as many of you know, always with a friendly smile. We will certainly miss Katie, who was not merely a colleague but also a friend and companion. We wish her all the very best in all her future endeavours. Keep an out for her though, as you never know when she might be spotted in Kingsgrove!

Eyecare Plus Kingsgrove requires one full-time or two part-time (job share) optical dispensers for immediate start.

The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and the latest fashion eyewear.

The position involves:
• Reception and administrative work
• Medicare, Veteran’s Affairs, and private health fund billing/claiming
• Stock control and returns management
• Sales and customer service
• Optical dispensing including lens fitting, spectacle deliveries, and frame repairs/adjustments
• Practice merchandising
• General retail/shop-keeping duties

Essential requirements include a professional attitude and great work ethic, a desire and ability to learn new things quickly, the ability to work efficiently and autonomously, exceptional customer service skills, confidence in sales, attention to detail and effective problem solving skills.

There may be a requirement to work retail hours including Thursday evenings (up to 7 pm) and some Saturdays (up to 2 pm) on a rostered basis. Flexibility to cover staff holidays and sick leave is highly regarded.

A certificate IV qualification in optical dispensing is desirable. However, the position is open to anybody with optical industry experience, students, as well as those wishing to develop a career in optics.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a relaxed small team environment where you would be fully appreciated and where ongoing skill development is encouraged. Remuneration is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
