Many adults want those top few levels from their neurodivergent kids.

To get to those higher levels, we need all the lower levels solidly built up.

If you have concerns about any of those higher skills, work on the blocks underneath.

Maturity and life experience also help with building this tower. Many of our kids will need accommodations in place to support some things, such as the purple level (executive function skills). Needing accommodations is not a personal failing- not for the kid and not for the parent. It's a sensible, practical, and necessary support.

If you are accommodating your ND kids, your ND students, your ND employees- you are amazing. Thanks for showing the world that it can be done.

🌟 So many ways to connect this week! 🌟

This week in the clinic every group looked different , but the heart of it was the same: joy, connection, and natural opportunities to share, create, and play together.

👧 Tuesday – Youngest Girls Group
We laughed and chased in Duck Duck Goose and What’s the Time Mr Wolf?, then settled in for craft time, making rainbows, spiky fish, and colourful drawings. Creativity, turn-taking, and movement all woven into one happy afternoon.

🎬 Thursday – The Story of Bandit the Cat
The boys filmed 6 scenes + opening credits in just over an hour! They generated ideas, directed each other, and worked together like a real production crew. Next up: editing, trimming, and adding music. (Pleased to report: no animals or people were harmed in the making of this film! 😄)

🎮 Friday – Mario Party Night
The group teamed up to defeat the CPU… and Maria shocked everyone by winning 3 mini-games in a row and finishing 2nd (a huge jump from her usual last place!). Play brings out teamwork, strategy, and plenty of laughs.

💬 Different activities, same magic: authentic connection, shared joy, and learning that happens naturally when we do things together.

Our Story

Welcome to Building Blocks OT 4 Kids where we pride ourselves on working together with families to build strong foundations for their child’s learning and development. We are a small personal private practice in the northern suburbs catering for families with children aged 0-12 years.

The Building Blocks team is dedicated to empowering families and children to achieve their potential and participate in everyday activities with confidence. Central to this is our ability to form meaningful relationships with the child, their siblings and caregivers. Through understanding that each family is distinct we are able to tailor our therapy services to you and your child’s specific needs.

Our therapy activities are designed to be fun and interactive with the “just right” challenge to encourage your child to strive for their best. We look forward to becoming part of your child’s team and developing creative ways to embed therapy into daily life.

We offer clinic and community based appointments.
