Happy Easter from Kingsthorpe Medical Centre!
We will be closed for for a short break and will re-open on Tuesday May 6.

Flu season is approaching, and we want to offer protection to as many Queenslanders as possible while providing cost-of-living relief.

That’s why pharmacies and GPs will offer free flu shots to eligible Queenslanders aged 6 months and older from March to September. 🙌

The free vaccination is the best defence against the flu and reduces the likelihood of serious illness and hospitalisation.

We wish all our patients and community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A reminder that our staff are taking a well deserved break over the next week and we will return at 8am on Thursday 2nd January 2025.

If you need medical assistance during our closure you can contact Hello Home Doctor on 134-100.

Bookings for our clinic can still be made via HotDoc for 2025.

Kingsthorpe Medical Centre will be closing at lunch time on Tuesday 24 December and will be re-opening Thursday 2 January 2025 (1 week).

There are plenty of appointments with Dr Anand still available Thursday to Tuesday.
Please check your medications and prescriptions to ensure you will not run out over the Christmas Closure.

R U OK? 💛💛

It is not always an easy question to ask or answer.

Today is a reminder that we need to be checking in on our friends, family, work colleagues to check they are doing ok.

Asking someone if they’re okay might seem daunting, especially if you’re unsure how to approach the conversation. The key is to be empathetic and non-judgmental. Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
1. Ask R U OK?: Be relaxed, friendly, and concerned. Mention specific observations that have prompted your concern.
2. Listen: Take what they say seriously and don’t interrupt. Give them your full attention and let them share as much or as little as they want.
3. Encourage action: Help them think about what they can do to improve their situation. Suggest they talk to someone else they trust, or seek professional help if needed.
4. Check in: Follow up in a few days to see how they’re doing. This shows that you care and that you’re there to support them.
We all have the power to make a positive difference to the lives of those around us.

Mental health is important, you never know how a conversation could save someone’s life.
