Research has proven physical activity to be a safe and effective therapy in the management of cancer. While there was a time not so long ago when doctors and specialists ordered cancer sufferers to ‘take it easy’ and get some bed rest, increasing evidence in recent years has left little doubt that physical activity can be extremely valuable in assisting cancer sufferers to cope with their treatmen

It's a crazy time of year, and exercise can be hard to maintain at the best of times 😬

So, here are our top five Christmas exercise tips:

1. Prioritise Gentle Movement 🔋

Opt for low-impact activities like walking, stretching, yoga, or tai chi. These exercises can help boost circulation, reduce stress, and maintain energy without overexerting your body

2. Set Realistic Goals ⏰️

Keep expectations flexible. Aim for small, manageable sessions—10-15 minutes of movement can make a difference, especially during busy holiday schedules.

3. Make It Festive 🎅

Incorporate the holiday spirit into your workouts. Dance to your favourite Christmas songs, or use holiday-themed items like lightweight ornaments for gentle strength exercises.

4. Listen to Your Body 👂

Rest when needed and adjust the intensity of your exercise based on how you’re feeling. Remember, it’s okay to skip a session if you're feeling fatigued or unwell.

5. Stay Social and Motivated 🤝

Join loved ones for a winter walk or a family-friendly yoga session. Exercising with others can boost your mood and help you stay consistent while enjoying the holiday spirit.

And remember as always, consult with your healthcare team before starting or modifying any exercise program. Enjoy a joyful, active, and healthy holiday season! 🎄💪💛
