What is Health?
I have worked in the health space for a long time and its certainly not limited to a combination of exercise, good food, nutrients and herbs..although these things are still essential
Ultimately, I think health is happiness. But how do we get there? Other than taking a saffron shot and doing a pilates class :)
Here are the four things that I consider to be essential for long term happiness and healing. Im sure there are more. And hey this is an open conversation, so would love to hear your thoughts.
1. Diversity. I have learnt that the pendulum will always swing. It's helpful to not have extreme diets, views, perceptions or extremes of anything really. Diversity helps us to achieve balance
2. Creativity. This is one that is higher up on our hierarchy of needs. As in, we need to have the basics right for creativity to truly blossom. So having a stable relationship, homelife and food on the table precedes being able to get into our creative flow. I honestly believe that creativity is the key to hormone balancing. What do you think?
3. Acknowledgement. My mantra as a healer has always been that 'healing is acknowledgement'. This can be of anything. Of the stories we tell ourselves that keep us feeling small, or the respect or lack of that we have for our environment or relationships. sometimes we just need to listen and observe without reacting. Thats actually the key! And this is what I do in my healing practice when I help people release their bodies holding patterns.
4. Connection. Is this something you prioritise? As a migrant who has moved around ALOT, and is also quite shy and reserved, connection is something that I have really learnt to prioritise. Not just with people but with the land that I live on. This has helped me ground and find meaning. What do you do to connect?
What is health to you?
