☀️💛 Just a reminder to all our wonderful patients – with summer just around the corner, now’s the time to be thinking about sun safety and getting those skin checks done. Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, but the good news is that it’s largely preventable if caught early.

This week is all about taking action. So, if you’ve noticed any changes to your skin or can’t remember the last time you had a skin check, it might be time to book in and see your GP. A quick check could make all the difference.

And remember, don’t forget the basics: slip on a shirt, slop on some sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade, and slide on sunglasses. Let’s stay sun smart and look after our skin this summer ☀️

It’s that time of year again when we see the moustaches come out in full force – all for a great cause. Movember isn’t just about growing a mo; it’s about raising awareness for men’s health and reminding the men out there to look after themselves 🧔💪

This month, we're encouraging all the men in our community to take a moment to check in on their health. Whether it’s a routine check-up, mental health support, or any of those “I’ll get to it later” health concerns, now’s the perfect time to take action.

If you haven’t had a check-up in a while or just need a chat about your health, give us a call. Your health matters – to you, your family, and all of us here too 💙

Breast Cancer Awareness Month🩷What should you look for in your breasts?
Be aware of any new or unusual changes in your breasts. If you notice any signs or symptoms of breast cancer such as a new lump, thickening in the breast, especially if it is only in one breast, changes to the shape or size of the breast or ni**le, see your doctor immediately.

Make the time this awareness month to

Diabetes Week | 14-20 July 💙

Worried about diabetes? It’s hard to know if you are at risk of diabetes, with limited outward symptoms. During Diabetes Week, we’re shining a light on the importance of getting regular check-ups with your GP, who can organise the tests required to see if you are at risk.

Being pre-diabetic can be a wake-up call, but the good news is that with the right advice and support, you can make positive changes to stay healthy and avoid becoming diabetic. This week is a good week to make the time to talk to your GP.

Due to doctor availability Kingston Plaza General Practice will be closed on Wednesday the 10th of July, with normal business hours resuming on Thursday the 11th of July.

Men's Health Week | 10-16 June 💙

Hey guys, it's Men's Health Week 2024. A time dedicated to focusing on making small changes to boost our health and well-being.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:
▪️ About half of us aren't getting enough physical activity.
▪️ Almost all of us (97%) aren't eating enough veggies.
▪️ Most of us (71%) need to eat more fruit.
▪️ 13% of men aged 18 and over smoke daily.
▪️ 26% of us drink more alcohol than we should, according to the guidelines.

We encourage all men to be proactive about their health. If you’re not feeling well, notice any unusual symptoms, or just need to talk, don't hesitate to reach out. It's perfectly okay to ask for help. Book an appointment with your GP today. We're here for you!
