Providers of physiotherapy and related services. Contact us on (03) 9580 1985
For over 10 years, the Back In Motion Health Group has been providing Australians with physiotherapy and related services. Like most great stories the growth from humble beginnings to a budding group of hard working, devoted and caring physiotherapists rose from an unwavering vision. To offer a physiotherapy service of the highest quality with a strong philosophy of care that would seek to provide
lasting results for those sick of endless quick fixes. We provide a holistic solution that enables clients to get what they want out of physiotherapy, perhaps getting back to sport, back to work, back to living, or just doing what they loved but were unable to do. By utilising the benefits of a broader range of clinical methods including clinical Pilates, massage, dry needling, and hydrotherapy and more all under the expert guidance of a physiotherapist, Back In Motion has been able to give its clients not only a great experience, but also the outcome they wanted.

With over a quarter of the year gone, it is now time for many to have a break over Easter!
We will be working through to ensure that if you sustain an injury, you will still be able to receive prompt quality care. The earlier that an injury is addressed - the quicker and more completely it resolves.
But, we will be closed on the main public holidays - so our opening hours are as follows:
If you need any help on the public holidays, please email b.mason@backinmotion.com.au. You can still book online throughout the Easter period or by calling 9580 1985 on the days in which we are open.
Wishing everyone a VERY HAPPY EASTER!

Maeve is loving being a big sister and no doubt will show Monty the tricks of the trade. And Jack is without question enjoying the lack of sleep again!
Please join us in congratulating Jack, Jacqui, Maeve and Monty!

We just wanted to write a quick note to advise that we will be understaffed for the next couple of weeks with respect to our admin and support team.
This may mean that there may be delays in returning messages or phone calls, periods where the admin desk is unattended and times in which physios may take payment, particularly private health insurance as to claim this on the spot as it is required on the day of service (otherwise payment can be done at another time, and you will have to claim rebates via your health fund directly).
We understand that this is an inconvenience, but we please ask for patience and we will get back you.
Lipoedema is an abnormal build up of fat in the body, typically on the legs and arms. It almost only affects women and can affect up to 11% of the female population.
It is different to normal fat, as it is much more difficult to get rid of and difficult to lose weight. In some cases, symptoms may be quite manageable, and in other cases it can lead to increasing pain and affect mobility.
Symptoms include:
-a “cuffed” look at ankles and/or wrists
-dimpled look on the skin
-pain and heaviness in the areas most affected
-bruising
Treatment can include:
-physiotherapy
-compression wear
-compression pumps
-liposuction
If you would like advice, assessment and management options please contact the clinic to book your assessment with Kate.

Yesterday, we farewelled Katrina from our physio team as she embarks on a wonderful trip of a lifetime! Over the next 12-18 months, Katrina will be travelling, living, working and loving life in Europe on her bucket list trip. We are saddened to have to say goodbye for now, but we are thrilled for what she has in store. She has been a valuable member of the team and has been well loved by patients and staff alike. Katrina has been our cultural ambassador, organising staff events and happenings in clinic.
Katrina would love to come back to the clinic when she returns from her travels and we would love to welcome her back then, but for now sadly - it is Bon Voyage!

Compression garments are items that assist with the management of swelling and can assist with reducing pain or heaviness associated with the swelling.
Persistent swelling may be the result of many causes, including lymphoedema, chronic oedema, or venous insufficiency.
It is important to get the correct garment to match your symptoms so the garment can be comfortable and effective. Occasionally, if the garment is not the right size or fit, this can cause any increase in pressure and the garment can then feel as if it is digging in.
Variations of garments include:
• material
• level of pressure (for example, class one garments have less pressure than class two garments)
• length of garments (socks to the knee, socks to the thigh, or pantyhose to the waist)
• grip tops
One of the most common errors is having a garment that is not long enough. For example, if your swelling is throughout the whole leg and you try a pair of socks rather than pantyhose, this may dig in at the knee. Compression socks work well for ankle swelling, but not necessarily if the swelling extends up higher.
If you think you may benefit from compression garments, and need further guidance, please call 9580 1985 to book an assessment with Kate, or you can book online.
